So was this in-and-outburger simply to monitor Cannon's snaps, or was there a(nother) injury issue which had to be nursed (again)?
Obviously there was that stretch where Waddle looked bad, but what was his snap count?
The pass blocking was great until it wasn't, and then we saw Waddle. How much did he play?
Let’s remember he was playing JJ Watt. Most linemen don’t look good against JJ Watt.Waddle did not look good. I get that he is a backup, and I'm fine with that.
Waddle looked adequate when he was on the field and Watt wasn't. But when Watt was on the field, Watt dominated him.
I think Watt was playing inside until Waddle came in. That is when I noticed Watt moved to the outside. Not sure if it was part of game plan, as he does move around, but it worked as Watt put pressure on TB.Let’s remember he was playing JJ Watt. Most linemen don’t look good against JJ Watt.
Yeah it appears that Cannon's reduced snap count was the result of building his stamina than it was of treating an in-game injury, thankfully.I think Romo was correct when he suggested that the Pats were managing Cannon due to his relative lack of game-conditioning - from missing significant practice time in Camp (due to some sort of calf issue).
When Cannon was on the field, he was way more effective than Waddle. At this point, I'm thinking that the Pats need two effective backup Tackles.
