We Drafting a QB

Yikes, Mayo already falling into the trap of being loved by the media - and dropping info.
BB never gave that much of hint in all of his 24 years combined.
Yeah? And can you point us to areas where Bill’s top secret, never say anything approach led to us winning?

Mayo stated they’d take a player at an important position (QB/WR) and guess what if we stick with that pick there’s no other option. It’s not like he just revealed anything shocking.

I don’t think this is typical “Jimmy Johnson trade value chart” stuff here.

Bears are well aware the value of being in a spot to take Williams is. It will take multiple firsts. Book it.
our #3 pick and our 2nd is the equivalent of two first rounders.

Should've kept it to himself tho
Lol, why? It's not a State secret the Pats need a QB. Most mocks have them taking a QB.

Hoping this is a diversionary tactic and they trade down.
Lol, hell no. That would be the dumbest thing to do when you're at 3.

If anything, trade up to #1 if they really really believe they can get their "guy."

I like it. Hopefully it will lead to bringing MacDaniels back. And this time he won’t be leaving for a HC gig any time soon.
Good point. This can only help during FAcy. God knows we need to draw elite receivers and Mac/Zap ain't gonna cut it.

It amazes me that people watched the Mac Jones/Bailey Zappe debacle for two straight years and think “hmm let’s trade down and grab a tackle and go get 35 y/o Kirk Cousins”.

People here sure seem content with the idea of being a treadmill 8-9 win team.

This clip seems to suggest that either Mayo has final say, or Mayo and the personnel department have already come to a consensus on the pick.
I doubt that w/o combine, interviews, work out, etc. May just be setting it up during FAcy.

Maybe this is exactly the Art of War.
Does he look like someone who has experienced enough to even know what he does not know in being a head coach? Buckle up.

If Caleb and Maye are gone and MHJ is there, do we pick Daniels over him?

Not sure I'm a fan of that. Pick the best available player.

Position needs to be taken into account and when you consider Best available player. By pure best player logic, you could end up with a kicker in the first round if he’s a stud prospect. 2nd/third best quarterback is more valuable than best player at pretty much any other position.

Typically, yes, but NE is also the only team that can offer them a slot that still lets them get the best non-QB in the draft. That’s also very high value. Draft charts are just guide rails, the actual value of each pick is highly dependent on the players available.

If NE trades up then Chicago can get MHJ. If NE stays put then Chicago might just take MHJ at 1 and NE might get who they want anyway at 3. If Chicago trades their pick then the best pick they’ll probably get is the Giants at 6th, at which point they will have no chance at MHJ and possibly not Nabors either. So it depends on how much they value getting their specific guy too.
Washington will give up next year's #1 to get Williams, Bears get MHJ at #2. Then Pats auction #3 or decide between Maye and Daniels. That's most likely scenario other than Bears trading Fields and taking Williams. How about Fields and #9 for #3?

Merge if you'd like with the press conference

I'll tell you this at least Mayo is a straight shooter!

Maybe not the best thing to let out if you want to play poker... but I bet Kraft authorized him to let the cat out of the bag here just to reassure the fans.

Ok so back to the drawing board for those who wanted other positions - QB at #3, who's your binkie?

If that happens, we might have to make a trade for Fields (or have already gotten Baker Mayfield or Kirk Cousins) but then combine them with Harrison Jr. or the best OT on the board. I like that option better than trading away the other valuable picks we have this year.
I've been on this drum beat for over a month. Looking into trading for fields is definitely a viable option. Harrison Jr. At #3 ,LT at #33.. taking a QB in the 2nd?..

You would give up 2 first round picks for Justin Fields? Why?

Trade back six picks for Fields, get Fields and Bears #9 for #3. That's if it goes Williams and Maye 1 and 2

Maybe squeeze them for another pick since we could just take MHJ
