We are on to the Heat and Jimmy Butler.

I do not know where the Celts go from here. They don’t play with a nasty, killer edge - but the bigger problem is they are simply not good enough. Getting a piece or two does not fix this. They do not have a reliable go to player. And ultimately that is on Stevens.

Well, all this "common knowledge" of the Celtics being the superior, "more talented" team sure has been put to rest. :( Tatum gets an early owie and it's a case of abandon ship. What a debacle.
To be fair, given the difference in the final score, a healthy Tatum is probably the difference. Takes the Heat out of the zone and Butler is more hesitant to drive on him.

Did I hear that right? Brown has more turnovers than points? ****.

I just hate his game. He belongs in the mid-200s with his spin, pump mid-range fadeaways. Below avg 3 pt shooter but he’s a small guy who can’t dribble or orchestrate an offense. Where does a guy like that land in the modern game? He’s like a downside version of Dwyane Wade…lacks that extra gear to capitalize on being a tweener (small guard/small forward) and instead is too small to power his way through and too uncoordinated to be a pg.

Because he can’t shoot 3s at an an even average clip, and all his other liabilities, he basically has to shoot like 50% overall just break even in terms of efficiency. Every game like tonight where his shot isn’t falling, he‘s a big minus. There aren’t many “scorer” specialists like this left and for good reason.

I’d say Antoine Walker comes to mind but risk overreacting. Antoine was a one of a kind stat sheet warrior.

Give White the 21 shots per game (or spread out those attempts) and trade this dude while there’s still a market.

Congrats on the win. I hope the Heat can give Denver a competitive series. I’m more optimistic than you. I’m more disappointed at the personal boredom level.

Kind but hell no.

Really hard to hate the Heat players. There are no NFL fans worse than Bronco fans, so I’ll root for them (or neutral at worst), even though I have nothing against the Nuggets players. In fact I like that team too.

Thank God we get Mike Breen in the Finals. BANG!!!

Yes, but a championship-caliber TEAM compensates for things like that vs. folding. I question Tatum's toughness just the same, he always makes sure to show everyone when something's wrong well after the fact.

Looks like he rolled his ankle pretty badly 20 seconds in, so I'm not getting on Tatum too much here. But Brown was brutal. And the rest of the team not far behind.

This is what I’ve been saying about Jaylen Brown. Superstar? Tatum hobbled and the team needs him to step up. 3/10, 3 turnovers, 3 missed layups, 0 playmaking passes. I was looking at those analytics sites with WAR, PER, etc and Brown is basically an average player who chucks up a ton of shots and gets volume point stats and nothing else. Without Tatum out there splitting defenses, he’s exposed as a fraud. Win or lose, I hope they trade him because some teams are gullible enough to think he’s a top 12/15 player.
My opinion on Brown was wrong. He's not the player I thought he was.

This reminds me of that game 7 vs the Cavs a few years back where they just launched 3's and missed all night. And Brown was a huge problem in that game too. No idea why the **** in the big games they just decide to move away from what made them successful.

Seven for 43 is incredibly bad. Just mind numbing. Maybe he should shave his beard.
The market is going to pretty bare on him after this performance. I still think he is a great third or fourth option on a contending team, but the Celtics can't keep him and add the superstar that Tatum's game apparently needs. He is going to be asking for too much after 2nd team all pro nod.

Smart needs to go with him. there's a reason he's always open at the end of games behind the 3. It's because teams want him to take that shot.

Ah well, we're on to the offseason. Gratz to @Kontradiction (and yes, Martin was the MVP of this series.)

The B's and C's playoff seasons makes me feel like I would if driving up on a massive car wreck. What a grisly mess!

Alright, boys. It was good popping back in and talking to you all. I’ll see you before the football season starts in a couple of months. Take care.

100 days away from the start of 2023 NFL ball.

Camp next month.
