I saw an article on my MSN feed which showed the picks of about 10 "experts" for this game. All but one picked TB. What I found interesting was that EVERY guy who picked Tampa, picked them by LESS than 7 points. I think 6 points was the widest margin.

This kind of confirms my thoughts about this team. There is no game we will play the rest of the way that we CANNOT win. That deep into the 4th quarter we will be...in the game regardless of who we are playing. Of course, that also means there is no game left of the schedule that we cannot lose. Well, that's not true. There is no way we can lose to Miami, and the 2 Jets games. But the other 5 games are at risk, if we don't play well.

Given what happened last season, it speaks to the remarkable turnaround we've had that we can say that. I'm sure, back in September, we all marked this game down as a loss. Now most of us think we have a great chance to win this game.

Not sure how much we lose by having Jennings instead of Rham. He has looked ok based on casual inspection of a limited sample last couple of weeks.
Rham is our Best Blocker from the RB position: have you seen Onwenu and Wilson's abysmal Blocking lately?? Yeah we need all the help they can get.

Bold indicates a change from the previous day's report.

Today's injury report intrigues me...it will be interesting to see if Kayshon Boutte is a "limited participant." That's going to be telling about his possible availability on Sunday.

Who else is going to be down there?

Have you seen Onwenu and Wilson's abysmal Blocking lately?? Yeah we need all the help they can get.

From KSEVEN'S All-22 review of the Atlanta game:

Jared Wilson-I don’t think it is coincidence the running game picked up once Wilson started run blocking at a higher level. He’s now getting very good with movement plays. Pulling and sealing the edge and getting to second level was something he struggled with up to 2 weeks ago. Now he’s really good at those plays. On straight up blocking he is solid. He does not get pushed back but sometimes does not gain ground either. A couple of times his guy came off him to stop the run at 2 yard gain. But overall he’s playing well. Pass Pro and stunt pickup has been great. Last 2 weeks have been really good games for Wilson, settling in at guard nicely.

People persist in perpetuating the puerile story that Wilson is an "abysmal" blocker. Preposterous. Pure fiction. He is learning a new position, but progressing nicely

I know there will be growing pains with the Rookies. That said: you would think Michael Onwenu would be more of a wall with his experience and contact. Onwenu better start playing lights if not I can see them moving on next Off-season.

Honestly I’ll be happy with a moral victory this weekend. I’d love an actual victory against TB at their house but TB is playing really well right now, top of most power rankings.

If the Pats don’t embarrass themselves like against Pitt, and shows some fourth quarter grit/points? I’ll be happy.

Let’s gooo! Finally a game televised here

Eff that!!!
We’re 7-2, there are no moral victories.

No excuses for Onwenu.

My point was about Wilson: he (1) is a rookie, (2) learning a new position, and (3) getting better. But some people focus on him as the problem.

Huge game here, i feel pretty good about it actually. No evans and Godwin even if he plays is not himself. Hopefully we can get Gonzo locked up on egbuka. Marcus vs tez johnson is a good battle if they end up pairing, but i like our chances in that one. Not sure if bucky irving will be available but it helps our run d if not.

Itll still be atough game though, mayfield is that good and their defense could give us fits up front. Need a better day out of our ol. If boutte is out i think we’ll be better with a week to adjust than we were in the 2nd half yesterday. But need a much better day in protection.
This is a game where I want to see if they are going to man up and take away Mayfields targets outside..play zone and tez and egbuka are making plays all day..

Is gonzo in protocol?

This is an NFC south opponent without 2 of thier best players.. if we can't suffocate thier offense then....

K. Williams have 2 opportunities to catch a pass... Sunday & Thursday.. if has another dude game.. then redshirt him.. and give chism his snaps.. JMO.. probably better luck hitting mass cash ticket..

The Pats give up 75 rush yards per game in 2025 (59 per game in the last 3 games). No opposing back has gotten over 50 yards rushing this year, including, most recently, "Pardon me, do you have any Grey" Bijon.

I wanted to say this within a thread, not start a new one on it... but it's amazing how we gravitate toward what's got to go right to take the next step, rather than have little celebrations as warranted (although I am sure it is mentioned.) As a fan base, I think Pats Fans tend to think we're "problem solvers" rather than cheerleaders... but maybe any fanbase thinks this way.

Anyway, 50 yards, that's all you get, mf. I mean, until someone gets more. But still.

You look at the talk about the TB D feasting when they can turn a team one-dimensional. It's easier said than done, but that's the default for this Patriots D (now if we can keep the secondary on the field we might really have something).

I think most likely we're in a fairly evenhanded 30-27 type game... But I'll take a W whether it's 49-10 or 7-6. It's time to see, for the first time since Buffalo, how we look against the big boys. Win this one, and a collective "oh siht" will be heard throughout the league (along with, "Yeah they clapped at the wrong time against us too!")

TB is without 2 of thier best players in Godwin and Evan's.. and thier offense has looked like it.. the Rookie Egubka has been impressive.. however he's a rookie..

With that being said the only way I see TB getting to 20 plus points is if we turn the ball over..
