Unfortunately, they lost their own first-round pick, the 31st overall, as part of the NFL's punishment for violating league rules by videotaping coaches on the New York Jets sideline in last season's opener of their 18-1 season.

That last paragraph, in my mind, is extremely telling and this is a reporter who "gets it" about the who video taping thing. There's no mention of "cheating." No mention of "SpyGate." Just what it was.

But the rest of the article does a good job of assessing the Pats situation.
