NFL.com - Combine

They've got the live video. Right now I'm watching the OL work out.

Some OL numbers -

Petrus with 45 reps

Pouncey 5.23 40

Saffold 5.22 40

Nobody else watching the Combine, or does watching 300 lb guys run just not interest people? LOL.

Veldheer looked very quick, but they didn't show the time!

Had it on for a few hours.

Wow, Trent Williams 4.82!

Veldheer is 6'8 312 lbs? Wow this guy is huge. I don't understand why they don't show the stopwatch at the bottom. Why do we have to rely on the announcers for the time?

PS Some scouts have said that Pouncey could be even better than Alex Mack who went in the 1st last year.

Just seen an unofficial 5:07 for his first run. I thought he was fast.

5.07 is good for a guy his size. Real good. I hope we get to see agility drills next. Right now they are doing verticals. Did you know that Vollmer showed off a 36" vertical at the combine?

Vollmer wasn't invited to the Combine?

Must have been his Pro-Day. Impressive.

Okung is a beautiful athlete.

WOW. Anthony Davis has a real explosive looking vertical. Let's see the measurement... 33" Yeah he's athletic.

Yeah, must have been Vollmer's pro day. I forgot he didn't get to attend the combine.

im watching. just a little boring watching OL run 40 yard dashes, long jumping, etc.

Well there are very few 300 lb guys that can run sub 5.0 times.

But they are carrying nearly 100 lbs more than RBs, WRs, and CBs do.

Chris scott is not very fast... 5.54.

How big is he? That's a nice 40.

Oh come on, shut up and give us the times.
Veldheer 5.07 5.12

Yeah the guy has nice speed for that size.
I'd like to see Petrus run now.

3 cone drill on group 1 now.
Bulaga is up.
He looks slow to me... He didn't get very low.

Wow Bruce Campbell looked fast in his 3 cone. He's having a great combine.

Two great times for Veldheer - 5.07 and 5.12.

Petrus was atrocious in the senior bowl. he was bad, couldn't get any movement at all in the run game.

Wait, does that mean he's our 2nd round pick? Doh!:bricks:

I'm glad to see others cussing the announcing team. I want to see the OL doing their position drills.

Here comes Iupati in the 3 cone. Not as smooth as Campbell, but didn't look clunky either. A lot of these OL are not sinking their hips as much as I'd like to see. They tend to run too high as well.

Veldheer just looks stiffer then I'd expect from all the hype.

Pat Kirwan wrote an article about explosiveness. He said that he doesn't like to isolate on measurement because it's too limited. So he adds the vertical, broad jump and bench reps together. He drops the guys that are great in only one area. Like a 45 bench reps but 22 inch vertical or 42 vertical and 18 bench. He says 70 is the magic number. A good football player with those measurables is what to look for.
