Screw Varitek and screw Boras ... I think he already has a post June 1st offer ... perhaps the Red Sox think he does also ... thus the deadline and the need to move on.

Umm, its pretty open knowledge at this point, and theres been plenty of mention of it with regards to his divorce preceedings.



That being said, he can't hit, he can't throw out runners anymore, and 5M is too much. Hes been declining for 3 years now. I don't see any reason hes going to be better than last year.

Were I the one making Varitek threads I might agree with him ... but no I don't make those. He's been one of my least favorite Red Sox players since he pledged loyalty and then held a gun to the managements proverbial head.
