Our OL is worse than the OL from Week 5-8 after we moved Onwenu to RT, Strange was playing but injured, and Trent Brown still mostly cared.

Our OL might be better than the OL after Trent Brown gave up and Strange went on IR. Robinson and Wallace control whether we make any big strides this year.

I'd guess at least 2-3 more games. It became impossible to run the ball without them.

Andrews I fear will finally show his age. He could become a liability because of physical diminishing skills—that were never prominent to begin with.

And the big payday for Onwenu makes me worried about his weight. He’s already slipped as a pro, which is why the talented three year college starter was drafted so low.

No future for a 370 guard.

Obviously, it is reasonable to be concerned.

The only think that I would add is that Anderson or even Lowe might be the LT if Okorafor can't make the switch, or if one of them beats him out for the starting spot. In some sense, the best is to have a healthy able Anderson as the starting LT and Okorafor as the swing.

Agree with this. Mayo coming out and saying the best players will play, when talking about Onwenu taking reps at G, tells me they like Sow at LG and Wallace at RT. Think they might be seeing that Wallace’s best position by far is RT.

Also, not real sure why they don’t bring in a guy like Charles Leno to be a bridge at LT till next years shot at a franchise guy in the draft. Moves Okorafor to the swing T where he is more suitable.

Besides Sow surging at LG, which should be great news, and the worries of LT—We believe in you Mosquito Cal!—I am not overly confident with David Andrews. I am worried about his physical abilities starting to diminish.

But as Wozzy has said with real coaching, which we haven’t had with this group for a couple of years, improvement should be evident and more noticeable as the season goes on.

But LT is clearly the position of greatest worry. Will someone step into the role?

They’ve got three guys to plug into it: Okorafor, Anderson, and Lowe. Hopefully, when the dust settles, it will no longer be such a worry. A big ?

They will likely sign a free agent if TC doesn’t inspire confidence.

UPDATE. The leaky OL at UNC for Maye came in the middle. His tackles were more than serviceable. There is no faster way to get inside a QB’s head and give him the yips than by being smoked by weak blindside protection.

Don’t put in Maye. If we need to, be like 2000 and carry four QBs. Have Zappe as the backup.

As we approach camp, I'm thinking that we should keep 4 OT's, which means keeping Lowe if Onwenu moves to RG.

I'm just not confident that Anderson with stay healthy and strong.

They’ll be ok if Chuk or someone else steps up and plays well. If not, they are going to take some lumps for sure.

If possible, we should look at and sign both LT David Bakhtieris and C/G Connor Williams to multiyear contracts. They wouldn't start the year with the team, but they would be our two best linemen at the end of the year. A solid offensive line and a promising young quarterback could make us a free-agent destination next year. It could shorten our re-built by a year.

Jacobs could push to take over at LT. And, Wallace should take over RT by week 4.
