Feels like a fleecing to me. I appreciate your take, I know you follow and know the game. I’ll back off my ledge for now.First rounder that they lacked, a back up goaltender and a young developmental center. The deciding factor was probably the Ottawa retaining part of Korpisalo's salary.

What about Ullmarks contract?Everyone at the local packie store thought is was a fleecing. They could not believe we got so much for Ullmark and his no trade clause. Ottawa's 1st round pick is supposed to be #7, and if the Bruins do not screw that one up, we should be able to solidify the defense.
Ullmark with the no trade clause was a bit of a "pig in a poke". The Bruins will flip Korpisalo shortly as Bussi (like @maust notes) is coming up from Providence. Since Ottawa is paying Korpisalo there will be a lot of takers. Kastelic is supposed to be solid and we will see what we get for a "free" Korpisalo. Have to like draft picks to like this trade.
The no-trade clause hamstrung Sweeney's leverage. Hes pretty good at doing good deals but this was a tough one to come out on top.Everyone at the local packie store thought is was a fleecing. If they can sign a 1st/2nd line C and a F, get Poitras, Brazeau and Lohrei to take that next step they'll be in great shape for next year.
very impressed with Lohrei last year and he should only continue to improve. Boqvist was another guy that was noticeable for me and he can really skate. Beecher and Brazeau were pleasant surprises as well so lot's of things to look forward to next yearLohrei was a revelation. Guessing he'll be slotted in as McAvoy's partner. Grzelcyk's fall off last season impacted McAvoy's play quite a bit, he was trying to do too much
The MINIMUM return for Ullmark, besides #25, should've been one of Norris, Pinto or Grieg to compete for one of the top-2 Centre positions PLUS a RHF with some upside such as Igor Sokolov... What the Ruins received was pennies on the dollar.

Pour a(nother) sip, Monty, you're gonna need it...
Obviously we have very different opinions of Ullmark. I don't believe he was much better than Korpisalo when he got here. That was a team won Vezina in 2023 and I suspect (barring a huge leap forward ny the Sens) Ullmark's numbers are going to suffer considerably playing behind that Ottawa team.
Unless Ottowa's FO shares your opinion on Ullmark, then they still should've been compelled to surrender more for him.
