Phifer was not much difference in weight than guyton, maybe 5 pounds extra. I did not follow phifer's career before the pats, hated the rams, so I missed his glory days.

Maybe players were lighter in general then, making Phifer heavier in a relative way?

Or maybe not, I suppose.

I am really curious. How would you know whether Phifer weighed 248 lbs or 252?

I remember a channel 5 clip that Mike Dowling did with Phifer in 03 and he said something to the effect, 'I'm playing about 4 lbs heavier than my career weight because the coaches are asking me to focus more on the run defense'.

So since he was listed as 248. I figured he was now 252.

McKenzie, Spikes, Mayo and Guyton provide a lot of youthful energy, just not a lot of experience although Mayo has really taken up the leadership role and stepped into Brushci's shoes in that respect.
