Tyler Warren, Penn State TE

Carter says he’s going to play. State College is a great college town. I graduated in 89. Good luck to your kids. Key to ND game will be turnovers. I think PSU’s offense can move the ball easier than ND’s. If PSU does lose turnover battle, I feel will win game. A couple of extra days rest doesn’t hurt either.

We need impact players. Regardless of position. Maybe, Tyler slides into 20’s. I doubt it.
As of right now Warren is projected as a 2nd rounder. We'll see where he's projected after the combine and pro days

Kiper has him at 17 now. Matt Miller has him in Top 12. I can definitely see him going in that range 12-17.

Some boards have Fannin and Loveland ahead of him.

My favorite TE from a Value/ team need prospective Is Mitchell Evan’s TE ND. Underutilized and had a somewhat down season after coming back from a torn ACL mid last season. Excited to watch both TE’s play on the 10th. Not saying he’s a gronk, but when he’s playing well, you might get the two confused. It’s the way he tracks and snags the ball, and runs after the catch. Think he’s really underrated. Above average blocker as well. I’ve seen him completely level some D linemen before, linebackers and DB’s are often little toys to him. Lots of room to add muscle with his frame and he is already 6’6 260lbs.

That describes Brock Bowers with the Raiders whom we could have drafted last year if we gave 3 to the Vikings.

Just imagine an Aaron Hernandez but as an inch taller Eagle Scout with even better speed.

And that’s why Brock Bowers is such a unique talent. Good enough to build an offense around.
If the Pats get the #1pick overall, maybe a trade down with the Raiders can include Bowers.

He is a beast. Totally physically dominated in game versus Boise state.
Can block and catch
Son of Gronk

Will be first rounder, would consider him at bottom of first if we trade back

Love this prospect. The Patriots are still a couple of years away from serious contention, and I believe in taking the best players to build with. I don’t like the tackles up high, and Warren could be a long term pairing with Maye. Like Kelce and Gronk he could become Maye’s insurance policy in tough situations. That’s worth its weight in gold. They could trade down around 8-10, take Warren, pick up a second, and use it to trade up for a WR or an OT. If they could address LT in free agency, and then draft Warren and Burden they could take a big step forward offensively.

I hope the Pats address the tight end position in the draft. Warren does seem awesome if he’s available by our second round pick. I want to see the team trade back throughout the draft to acquire more assets, I’m not really in favor of trading back into the first to get him if that’s what it costs though.

Warren is going in the top 15.

interesting discussion. Lets break it down into this framework. Who would you want. A healthy Gronk, or a healthy, say, Jefferson. But I don't think its a either or. You need at least one elite receiver on your team. I believe Gronk had as big an impact on the Pats offense as Randy Moss did during his 2+ years.

During Gronk's best years, when he was surrounded by a VERY ordinary WR group, he forced teams to change their coverages to stop him. Same with Moss or Jefferson. Beyond that, football is the ultimate TEAM sport. No other team sport is an individual's success so dependent on the other 10 guys around them. Even the greatest QB's, and I understand that the QB IS the most important position on the offensive side of the ball, we have seen all too often that even the BEST QB talent cannot excel when those around them aren't pulling their weight. Now that could be said of ANY team sport, but in football even more so. We have seen great offenses fail to bring their team's the ultimate goal, because of failures by on the defensive side or ST's That is why drafting the BPA is always the best way to go in the draft, EXCEPT when you need a QB.

No doubt this team NEEDS to improve the OL. We've heard that one ad nauseum all season long, but if there is an elite talent (and there are only 5-8 of those guys every season you have to take him. And if we stay at #4 we will definitely get one. I really don't care what position they play.

I wouldn't trade that far back (as a player we could use could be missed). But, I would trade a Mid-Round pick this year and a pick from next year to move back into the 1st Round if he's still there in the 20's. But I suspect he'll go in the Top 15 in the 1st Round.
