Any word on Borregales? Are they not doing any field goal kicking so far?

Our draft woes go back a few years. For as great of a coach BB was, a lot of his draft picks were atrocious. Onward and upward, this years haul looks like a positive start to building our future
Apples and oranges comparison though. BBs horrible drafts were a 5 year stretch during the dynasty years. They reminded me of KC Chiefs recent drafts. When you're on top, you're picking last in the first round, you're trading away picks for vets, you're taking huge swings for eye-popping talent, and you're missing a lot. KC and Andy Reid are doing the same thing. They have their share of Easley's. But this is what you do with a fully stocked roster. Add vets. Push it until you can't push any longer, and they you pay the piper (2020 Pats) and start all over again.

I take issue with some of the front office people now because we're picking at the top of the draft. For instance, Polk was taken when we had the 34th pick. Wallace is in the 60s.

I have had this thought 10x this morning reading the first 2 days posts.

But these draft picks from the prior 2 years, especially the OL, wow... I really have to wonder what is going on.

Polk, Caeden Wallace, Sidy Sow, Layden Robinson... This is malpractice.

Especially the OL. Sow I can't complain about given where he's picked. But you gotta do better landing Wallace in the 60s and Robinson in the 4th.

It's a shame that none of the 3 are working out for us.
We should all wait until after the first week in pads. The coaches are not going to be making decisions until after they see how the younger players move the pile and open gaps.

... for anyone who cares about this absurdity.

Just as an FYI, I watched Caeden Wallace play over 50 games. All at tackle.

Just remember, no pads...

Trent Brown & Sebastian Vollmer were giants... 6'8"... Marcus Bryant is 6'8"... Durant & Conley are close at 6'7"... Campbell, Moses & Jacobs clock in at 6'6"... not too shabby imo...
Nate Solder was 6'8" as well. He almost makes GRONK look normal-sized.

IIRC, at 1 point Boutte was projected for round 1 of his draft.
Ya, don’t think that’s the case. His freshman season was his best, and there was talk he could be an early draft pick in a couple of years. Those talks died completely after disappointing Sophomore and Jr seasons, and spending time in the doghouse. Pretty misleading to say he was ever projected as a 1st rounder in his draft. I have heard peeps say this over the past couple of years, not really the case

It is a positive but I also I wouldn't read too much into it. It could also mean they are limiting his progressions to 1-2 looks
could also mean yesterday's porous O Line display is already terrifying the crap out of Josh

either am I... though I am reconsidering that decision because its like @Ian is doing all of the heavy lifting in these threads (Thanks Ian! ) ... might have to take the plunge, help him by sharing the load...

Or not... its kinda nice just kickin back, sippin' on a mint julep while the news rolls in lol

It's relatively easy for me to post them, provided they continue to have morning practices. I feel bad because it's hard to both view the thread and check to make sure someone else hasn't posted the same thing. I did that to @manxman2601 yesterday and still feel bad about it.

no reason to feel bad... and I would hazard a guess Manxman doesn't feel like his toes were stepped on... things move fast... at the end of the day, its no big deal if a tweet or ten gets posted twice...

My take on WR roles after a couple days of camp...

X:
- Boutte
- Hollins
- Williams

Z:
- Diggs
- Bourne
- Williams

Slot:
- Douglas
- Diggs
- Chism

I think Diggs plays 50/50 at Z and Slot, and probably ~75% of the snaps, so Bourne would still get a good amount of run at Z. Douglas may only get modest run if Diggs eats into the slot snaps and they don't use too much 3+ WR sets. Boutte is the primary X, with Hollins taking some red zone work and run-focused plays, but the hope being that Williams starts eating into somebody's snaps as the weeks roll along. Chism makes the roster, but sees few snaps on offense and is primarily a special teams player for now.
