I've already addressed this. If you're in you have a mathematical chance, but every year there are teams that are after thoughts.
We can disagree on this. That Team NEVER had a chance and all of us that watched that season knew it.

"mathematical chance". I agree with you, we aren't arguing.

The Mac jones playoff game never had a chance, nor did they have a chance. Paper Tiger.
Nobody really gave the 2010 Jets a chance going back into Gillette after they just got their asses kicked on MNF. The only difference between the Jets and 2021 Pats was that the Jets had already proven to get to an AFCCG the year prior. The Pats defense was not very good whenever they faced a competent offense which posters still deny here. Allen and the offense straight up embarrassed them.

It looks like Diggs, Boutte, Pop, Baker, Hollins and Chism right now. I know I have pound the dead horse, but Hollins is a football player thru and thru. You're 100% sleeping on every other aspect of him as a complete football player. I'm pleased to see that Baker looks like he's got his head out of his ass so far, but there's a lot of football left before Labor Day. As of today, Polk and Bourne look like they are out.
I’m sure Williams makes the team just because of his 3rd round draft status

One thing is certain is the Jets will finish last in the AFC East. I’m not sold on Miami either. They might be good enough to win 9 or 10 but they almost always fall apart in the second half of the season. When they came up to GB last Thanksgiving we punched them in the mouth and they folded. They can’t handle playing good teams in cold weather and even bad teams they struggle to beat in cold weather road games.

That's probably the key. Still, that would mean there's 7 on the roster.

Diggs
Boutte
Williams
Baker
Chism
Pop
Hollins

Have they ever carried 7 before? Even when Slate was strictly STs?
4 inactive WR most weeks is a great use of resources, NOT!

Very unlikely. People don’t realize to claim a guy at cutdown you have to cut a guy who made your team. Most teams don’t want to take that risk to see if a guy who played against low level competition and wasn’t even considered draft worthy might be a shocking surprise.
And preseason games playing with and against scrubs won’t do much to change that either way.
A team that “needs a receiver” is going to keep a guy who knows their system, or go get a guy with pedigree, not say “maybe he isn’t too slow to be a WR because the Patriots had a few white slot guys”
I agree. We have 2 #7's at this point. Is our WR depth so great that Chism will be picked up; probably not.

I don't count Bourne who will be traded.

There have been many teams that make a run and/or get the SB with a wild card or 10-11 win division champ.
It’s even more likely now with only 1 bye.
You gotta be in it to win it.
I’m not talking about what peoples opinion of a team is, that’s irrelevant, I’m talking about having a chance.
Look at the Giants, Packers or Steeler teams of the past.

Nowhere I’m seeing or reading does Chism make the cut. Everything I’ve seen says he’s been underwhelming during camp and probably a ps body.

Point me in the direction of any game for any team where they dressed 3 WR, then compare to the prevalence of doing so “most weeks” in that season.

And I don't think the idea of starting with 7 WR's would get in the way anyway.
Folks want 7 WR's because they are afraid that Vrabel doesn't have THEIR binkie in the top 5 (or perhaps).

We have the same rules and Practice Squad as everyone else.

We can CHOOSE to have a wasted roster spot or two. I suggest that Vrabel could find a better use of a roster spot. Obviously, he would keep a 3rd TE AND a FB if he could find them. They would clearly be more valuable than a 7th WR.

To me, it's no big deal. It isn't unreasonable to keep a player as a developmental player. IT IS unreasonable for us to expect a 7th WR to have a use on the roster this year.

LET SOMEONE CONVINCE US. FOR THE PAST TEN YEARS
How many receptions have been made by our #4, #5, #6, #7 and #8 receivers on the Opening Day roster? or even one picked up later.
I am certainly open to a STer being our 6th receiver. Hoever, I don't expect our #6 to get have many receptions.

He’s a slow white WR from a small school. He has to be great
