Really. He had 487 yds and 4 TDs in 2018. You think those are WR #2 numbers? C'mon man.

And if you want to know what a legit #2 is, let's start with the obv, it's a guy that has more than 487 yds and 4 tds.
In 2018 no 49er WR had more receiving yards than Bourne.

You’re making up your own definition, to suit your own argument.

WR2 is the #2 WR on the roster.

Bourne was actually their top WR, so he was better than WR2.

This is really your argument as to why he should stay, because he had 487 yards and 4 tds in 2018? Better than his vaunted teammates:

Marquise Goodwin
Pierre Garcon
Dante Pettis
Trent Taylor
Riche James Jr

Being the leading WR of that group most certainly doesn't make him a legitimate #2, let alone #1.

But you're free to you opinion.

yup, but D Howard really did us in. People always remember the first play bomb for GB to go up 7 and then up 10, but we fought back to go up 14-10. I felt then, and still feel now that we could've won that SB if we simply kicked the ball out of bounds all game. White came on late to close the game out, but Howard really did us in.
Well the next drive Favre put us back up with that long TD pass to Freeman. I still think we would have won after that but it would have been close.

LOL Headass is a legit insult

Now I gotta Google asshead to compare the subtle differences in these 2 noble words

Ok so I googled asshead. The definitions of both words are nearly identical.
One thing that caught me offguard: the"ass" in asshead refers to a donkey!?!
Wtf?! Sorry, when I call someone an asshead, I ain't referring to a donkey;
Nay, I'm talking about a nasty, un-wiped,
****-caked,crusty buttocks. Much better insult.

I've seen you reference this a few times now but no idea what you're talking about? Who's the cult? And why Baker?
Cmon man, you serious? It's one of the most obvious things on this board

Not saying he should stay here now. Just saying he is disrespected for no good reasons, He couldn’t help being on a team that used Kittle more than the WRs, couldn’t help knowing the system they were playing better than the OC and the OC resenting that, couldn’t help getting his ACL torn, couldn’t help playing for perhaps the worst coach in NFL history.

I don’t think he ever delivered results to the level of his ability, but I think he did the best he could in the tough situations he was in and he stayed positive and made everyone around him better. I have to respect that. It’s too bad you don’t.

I never said I don't respect him. I actually like him, seems to always have a smile on his face and energy. There was the issue with him a couple of years ago when they inexplicably wouldn't play him, I don't know if we ever found out what that was all about. But again, he's played in the league for 8 years and averages 465 yds/year and under 3 tds. Yes injuries play a part, as they do with every player, and there are always extenuating circumstances, but we're talking 8 years here, not 2 or 3. I like him fine, but we will not miss him when he's gone.

The length of the Stevenson fumbling reputation is WAY overblown. It doesn't match up with the facts. In his 4 years he has fumbled 2-4-1 and 7 times. Yes, last year it WAS a problem, but it is made to seem like he fumbles all the time. Also when a RB fumbles a QB exchange it might not be his fault, though the fumble is credited to him. Just like a pick of pass deflected off the receiver's hands still goes to the QB.

I have no idea why Stevenson doubled his 3 year total in one season, but a single fumble leaves everyone thinks he's always been a fumble machine and that is just NOT the case. BTW- EVERY RB fumbles the ball every now and then. He never rushed for less than 4ypc in a season and is good after contact. We are lucky to have him, especially since all the rest of our RB's are on the small side (Gibson Larison and the 2nd rounder)

People hate Bedard. For his attitude during Deflategate, I guess? He’s a good reporter, gives some pretty good insight and opinions.

I don’t know people dislike him for some reason after we used to have Tuesday threads specifically for Bedard’s analysis on Felger and Mazz. But then he got cancelled around here and all of his thoughts are invalid or something.
Bedard doesn't expect you to agree with him all the time and I don't, but he'll give you his honest opinion and back it up with logical reasons.

Hell, I'm wondering about this summer vacation of a TC myself. I wondered if they are running the hill or doing anything cardio vascular at the end of practice? No one's replied back.

He did average 3.9 yds/carry last season, but I do agree that he is a good back and his fumbling is overblown. People always suffer from recency bias, so it's understandable they gravitate to the fumbling issues since they were last year. Remember the Cincy game last year, he was getting hit behind or at the line of scrimmage almost every play, and he just kept bulldozing and making yards and first downs on his own. Henderson will definitely eat into his carries, which is a good thing, keep Mondre fresh, and of course we need explosive playmakers so Henderson is gonna see the field quit a bit. That all said, he makes good money for a RB, so he won't have a very long leash if he starts putting the ball on the ground.

How about some perspective.

2 years ago, Bourne was treated like s**t by Fat Matt because Bourne had actually played in a Shanahan Outside Zone system and told Fatt Matt that he was doing it wrong,. Patricia refused to listen and doghoused Bourne. Despite being Doghoused, Bourne was still on his way to 800 yards before he tore his ACL.

Last year, he was coming back from the torn ACL and had to put up with the crappy coaching.

2017 - QB Merry-go-round with Garoppolo, Berthard, Hoyer. Rookie Year. 5th WR in terms of targets.
2018 - Bourne led ALL 49ers WRs in Yardage, Targets and receptions despite not being the #1 WR.
2019 - 3rd behind Deebo Samuel and Emmanuel Sanders
2020 - #2 behind Aiyuk in Receptions.
2022 - Mac Jones Rookie Year.

BTW, the 49ers have their really awesome TE by the name of George Kittle. He's been a top receiver for them and led them in target numerous times. Like in 2018 & 2019.

Bourne has the ability to be a solid #2/#3 receiver. No one is saying he's going to put up 1600 yards. But when you watch the offense when he's on the field, it takes on another level. Even last year when they weren't playing him much.

I think he means you @Actual Pats Fan and @patfanken

You dropped the ball in your 2nd sentence. Never say never or always because people always know better and won't trust you to tell the truth because they always believe that they are unique with their thoughts. Always.

I don't know about the hill. I'm actually wondering if the new training facility might have something to do with it not being used. I forget exactly where the hill was in relation to the new building.

But yes they have typically been running 25 yard gassers at the end of practice. They line up as a team at the goal line and run. Probably more of a warm down than a gasser.

I agree way overblown.

However I do believe botched handoffs are considered QB fumbles until the RB actually has established he possessed it.
