How about some perspective.

2 years ago, Bourne was treated like s**t by Fat Matt because Bourne had actually played in a Shanahan Outside Zone system and told Fatt Matt that he was doing it wrong,. Patricia refused to listen and doghoused Bourne. Despite being Doghoused, Bourne was still on his way to 800 yards before he tore his ACL.

Last year, he was coming back from the torn ACL and had to put up with the crappy coaching.

2017 - QB Merry-go-round with Garoppolo, Berthard, Hoyer. Rookie Year. 5th WR in terms of targets.
2018 - Bourne led ALL 49ers WRs in Yardage, Targets and receptions despite not being the #1 WR.
2019 - 3rd behind Deebo Samuel and Emmanuel Sanders
2020 - #2 behind Aiyuk in Receptions.
2022 - Mac Jones Rookie Year.

BTW, the 49ers have their really awesome TE by the name of George Kittle. He's been a top receiver for them and led them in target numerous times. Like in 2018 & 2019.

Bourne has the ability to be a solid #2/#3 receiver. No one is saying he's going to put up 1600 yards. But when you watch the offense when he's on the field, it takes on another level. Even last year when they weren't playing him much.
I understand the history, and the ****show that was our coaching staff the last few years. But he's been in the NFL 8 years and has never been a legit #2. Based on a very large sample size and they guys in front of him, he is no better than a #4 or #5 here this year. So I would hope a younger guy with more upside takes his spot. Doesn't mean I don't like him, doesn't mean he can't make some plays here or there.

I know about the injury. Peppers has been better the last 2 years, and it's not particularly close. Peppers was cleared of any wrong doing and was never suspended.

Being put on the Commissioner's Exempt list is being suspended. Not sure why you think otherwise.

Sorry, DaB, it absolutely is not a suspension.

No, being placed on the NFL Commissioner's Exempt List is not the same as a suspension, though it can be a precursor to one. It's a special player status, essentially paid leave, that allows the league to address off-the-field issues without immediately suspending the player. The Commissioner, not the team, has the authority to place a player on this list.

Let it be known: I posted a thread about a year ago asking about people's hopes surrounding Boutte and suggested he has a bright future. Or maybe two years ago. I forget

My prophecy... It is all going according to plan... RK, pay me millions to be Talent Prophet.

Peppers is a guy who the 49ers might look at since they cut their Starting Strong Safety..
I like Peppers, but ya, we got more than we need, and if the price is right...

YOU ... ARE ... VINDICATED!!!!!!

Wallace needs to step up his game before that happens
Considering he was injured for some of his Rookie Season, and the absolute nightmare that last season's coaching staff and overall team was, he has time and now the OL Coaches that will help him improve.

Pape do you wait with fingers poised ready to start the thread....God help anyone that beats you to it.
He was late today, after 7. Must’ve slept in, knowing Ian’s traveling took the pressure off.

I know you guys probably hate our guts but good luck to you guys on your season. I hope you guys stay healthy and have a good one.
Can’t really hate the guts of any NFC team. Well, except the Giants.

Besides, I ran into your team owner in my local bar last night. Nice guy. Enjoyed drinking with him.

Back at you in the health wishes.

Your right its more than just time, its more about rivalry. We hardly ever play GB and i don't remember any shenanagins in the lose in 96 unlike that refereeing obscenity in the 76 oakland game. I also agree with your most of your hate list for various reasons.
The only shenanigans in 96 were by the traitor Parcells, leaving town with his groceries. Hate the idea of him in the Pats HOF. Yes, he brought organization to the Pats, but he forfeited that good will (IMHO).

It's a lardass take. Here are the facts. Cincinnati was terrible out of the gate because they had a 1/2 WR. Chase was gassed by halftime because he held-in while he was waiting to get paid. 6 catches/62 yds. Burrows had no else to throw to.
It didn't hurt when the TE dropped a TD while unmolested at the end zone.

Seems like in 2018 he was better than a “legit #2” whatever that is.

I can understand why you feel that way because of rhams fumbles.. fumbles can be fixed..
True, but we've heard that ever since he got here.

As for WHY? Well, they have 2 OTHER guys in Mapu and Woodson who need to get playing time.

Peppers is a guy who has, very recently, had issues with league discipline as well.

No. Peppers hasn't been better than Dugger the passed 2 years. Peppers was suspended for numerous games last year while Dugger played injured (ankle).
I haven't seen much from Mapu, don't see instinct. Happy to be proven wrong.

Really. He had 487 yds and 4 TDs in 2018. You think those are WR #2 numbers? C'mon man.

And if you want to know what a legit #2 is, let's start with the obv, it's a guy that has more than 487 yds and 4 tds.
