Sucks for him. I do think Austin and James were winning that battle above him in the depth chart, though.
for sure without question based on camp reports.
James Will at worst be our dime back, if not bump Jones for Nickel.

Bah, not you guys, maybe Desmond Howard? It was a good superbowl though. Reggie White and D Howard was all the difference.
Eh I don’t want to think about it my social studies teacher was a packers fan he had his Green Bay shirt and he was my football coach, I dropped a pass and he said ah those Terry Glenn hands.

yup, but D Howard really did us in. People always remember the first play bomb for GB to go up 7 and then up 10, but we fought back to go up 14-10. I felt then, and still feel now that we could've won that SB if we simply kicked the ball out of bounds all game. White came on late to close the game out, but Howard really did us in.

He's not going to be released... But his role will change, and so will his contract
Understanding.. RBs don't have a long shelf life anyways.. rham is heading into his 5th season.. he got paid last season.

yesterday, but bears reviewing

Would not surprise me if that ended up being the final roster.. Chism makes the PS.. probably find a trade partner for polk??

So just wanted to say we had very high hopes for this draft class. So far it is hard to say you are not happy in what you've seen.

Henderson, Wilson, Woodson and Williams have all come in quickly rose high in the depth chart instantly and have regularly popped. Farmer is now starting to rise too and seems like he will be in the rotation. Bryant has become the top back up tackle overall it looks like. Good value out of him.

Campbell their most important pick has sadly been shaky, and you hate to see that. But unlike everyone else he has been continuously been going against the top players since day 1. So his level of competition has been higher than anyone else. However no matter how good the rest of this class is doing it will be hard to feel truly great about this class if Campbell can't at least be a serviceable LT. He has had good stretches. But we need him ready for week 1. Still time.

Their kicker Andres has had a fantastic camp, but their vet has been just a good. Doesn't take away this is a successful pick. I wonder if they will trade a kicker? Yeah they need to cut one anyway, but what team wouldn't use a 7th to make sure they get a guy who can lock down that spot instead of risk missing out him.

Swinson is really the only notable pick you can point to who has been disappointing so far.

Vrabel has a .571 winning % in Sept.

Bill was .719 in Sept w/ Brady. .433 without (Bledsoe, Cassel, Brisket, Jimmy G, Cam, Mac.)

As we all know, it's about how good of a team you have and how good the QB is which makes the difference rather than how training camp is run.

He lost 4 out of his 6 openers with pretty good teams.

2023: Lost opener to Saints 16-15, started 1-2
2022: Lost opener to Giants 21-20, started 0-2/1-2
2021: Lost opener to Cardinals 38-13, started 2-1/2-2
2020: Won opener over Broncos 16-14, started 5-0
2019: Won opener over Browns 43-13, started 1-2
2018: Lost opener to Dolphins 27-20, started 2-1

Bedard's just speaking how Vrabel's teams do "out of the gate," and is wondering if a soft training camp has something to do with that. Bedard even says Vrabel must intentionally have a reason for a light camp.

He's not questioning the end product or if Vrabel is a good coach.

"Hope he knows what he's doing" is not a valid take re: Mike Vrabel. It's a hot take designed to get fans to click it and react in a negative manner, generating more interest. The last guy here didn't know what he was doing, and Bedard's playing to that audience. Vrabel is a former player with rings and a previous winner of Coach Of The Year. Vrabel is not a 1st year coach that was promoted too early. He knows what he's doing. Bedard's one statement comes off as that he's smarter than Vrabel. He's not. He's a knowledgeable reporter but this is another instance where his smarm gets in the way from what might be a good report.

You must not read him because he's been pretty positive about Vrabel and the team.

The take he made was valid, though I agree he's an arrogant prick.

It's that elitist, douchy tone Bedard has and when he is wrong....he is wrong.

I agree, he's far from always right, but he's the best I've seen at consistently seeing things before other writers.

Yeah he's difficult to swallow. I get the hate.

I wouldn't say Swinson has been disappointing. He's a 5th round pick who is a developmental pass rusher. I think he's done what you would expect so far.

As much as I am a Bourne guy, I think he's going to get traded for a Conditional 6th or 7th. Which is too bad because he's such a catalyst when he's on the field.. The Reality is that the others may have moved past him.

ell

Me too. When he's on the field, he plays consistently well wherever he is lined up. I get that Patsfans posters want something new, bright and shiny, but I'd hope that the Pats coaches were aware how solid he is.

Per the contract between the NFL and the NFLPA aren’t all training camps on the soft side? I know there is a limit on how many padded practices teams can have. When camp is over we should see if Vrabel maxed out the number of padded practices.

JaMycal Hasty. Surely they can do better.
I mean yeah, I’d love someone better, but who’s out there at this point in the offseason? Teams will be making cuts/more trades soon. Besides, we may already have the next Brian Westbrook/Jahmyr Gibbs on the roster

I get it but Bedard is cherry-picking if that is the sample he is using. One game in a home opener.

I think he's solid, but zero upside. A good benchmark for a 3rd WR in the NFL is 500-600 yards and Bourne has failed to reach that mark in 6 of 8 NFL seasons, and the last time he did it was 4 years ago. It's not about a new shiny toy, it's about rostering the best guys, and hopefully with some upside. The bottom line is Bourne is not that good, and his best season was average, and was 4 years ago.
