Trading for a WR: Who is worth a 3rd and $20M a year?

or $25M a year? or $30M?
==========
Folks may not like the free agents who will be available.

Personally, I think that we can come to agreement with at least one free agent who would provide value.
========
I think a lot of us would like a trade and a free agent.

Perhaps it reasonable to see what Josh can do with one addition and our current group of four youngsters. And then we could get more talent next year if necessary, or even trade for another WR before this year's trade deadline.

Trade targets id be interested in: metcalf, dj moore, olave, garrett wilson(though this one is really a pipedream). Those would probably cost a 2 though, and Wilson would be a 1.

DJ Moore is an interesting idea, but with Keenan Allen close to hanging them up I doubt Chicago wants to part with him. But I would do a 3rd for Moore.

Love DJ Moore.. but under Ben Johnson that Chicago offense will be unhinged... doubt they trade him... but then again... the do have odunze and komet at TE.. maybe we send a 3rd for DJ?

Yeah Probably not, i remember earlier there was noise that he might not be happy in chicage as he was supposedly a fields guy… but when searching now everything points towards him being okay now. So hes probably not an option

I honestly don’t get why so many people want to give up the 4 pick. It makes zero sense to me.
Because a receiver like Pickens would be Moss like in this offense.
I don’t think Hunter is a talented as Pickens, plus you’d have the Steelers first rounder to address O like in this hypothetical trade.

Yeah Ben Johnson’s first act as HC won’t be trading his best WR away from his young franchise QB.

Because you know what you are getting vs predicting what you are getting. 4 in a trade would net you a game changer.

It’s a calculated risk either way. If you trade a 4 for a proven vet, you’re getting a known commodity versus the mystery box. But that known commodity also comes with a higher salary cap hit, more tread on the tires, and fewer years under contract. This is fine if you’re a contender with a short window. However the Pats are not in that situation, they are still stuck in the rebuild phase and have lost 31 of their last 41 games played.

What you get from a rookie taken at 4 is someone with a younger, fresher body who has the upside to be a star for the team, and just as important, that cap-friendly rookie contract with team control up to five years. With so many roster holes to fill, it makes more sense to keep those picks and invest in young players that will hopefully make up the core of leaders for many years to come. They have to find those players because right now all but a small handful of them on the roster are replacement level or worse.

And paying through the ass both in terms of the pick and payday. The players they can get at 4 are going to be really good players.

WTF are you talking about ? George Pickens will be “ Randy Moss?” That is true crackhead ****.

You know, they shouldn’t cut ties with JaLynn Polk, he’s the next Jerry Rice.

That’s a horrible trade idea.

If they were a contender then trading a first for an established player makes some sense, but when you are at least 3 seasons away from being a serious contender it doesn’t.
