The patriots seem to like to do this in order to get value for a player with only one year leaft on his contract. While there are possibilities for this eyar, perhaps because of the shortened offseason, Belichick may choose not to take this opportunity. Keeping an addition vet who knows the system might be more important than is usually the case.

I think there is a big locker room component in many of those trades.
