They always seem to make the most stupid trades every offseason. Anyone they have or any senerios we can make with them?

Yep, as has been mentioned elsewhere, they like Samuel. If we can't get Samuel signed at a reasonable contact, then franchise him and trade him to the Redskins.

I would even be willing to take picks from the 2008 draft which is supposed to be even stronger than this one.

Has it been documented somewhere that the 'Skins like Samuel ? I'd love to get 2008 picks and get Samuel to the NFC at the same time.

I was kidding a bit but we all know there owner. I Guess time will tell

If Brady Quinn falls to 5. I can see someone trading up with them to get him. Minny,Miami,G.B OR Jax. There's not really a great player I'd trade that high to get. Let's say they traded with Jax 5 to 17 for an extra 2 this year and nr. 1 next year. Maybe, they'd trade down from 17 to 24 if there's someone we like. They are desperate for picks.

I don't remember where I read it, but on more than one occasion I have seen the Redskins mentioned as one of the teams most likely to pursue Samuel if he becomes a FA.

The Redskins capologist job must be the toughest in football!!!!

Given the weakness of the draft (apparently), the Skins lousiness, lack of picks, and their lousy recent trading history, I would see if they'd give their first next year for #28.

This draft isn't as weak as it was once projected to be because of all the juniors that came out.

We've got extra picks and you can't dismiss the Redskins factor, especially when you consider they may not have the cap space to win the "Summer Bowl" like they always do.

They traded their #2 to the Jets last year, (i believe it was for a #3 in the last draft) which means they are short this year, if we could trade #28 for the Redskins #1 and #3 in 2008 or even better, their #1 and #2 next year then maybe we will go in that direction.

This would normally be considered a rampant pipe dream, but with our flexibility this year and the Dan Snyder's personality and history, it is not an unlikely scenario.

Corey will retire as patriot.....No tradeing period.....#28 is a touchdown machine....

why would they need Corey Dillon? They have Portis, Betts, Duckett. and CD isnt even worth a 3rd rounder around the league anymore honestly.

Dude, they were taking about the #28 draft pic of the first round, not Dillon. sheeeeesh.

Being a Redskins fan, let me clear the air for you guys

I do believe we'll be itnersted in Samuels. THough, by the sound of it, we're more interested in Clements, since he played under Williams before. Though, in my opinion, I'd rather have Samuels.

We don't make silly trades in whole, just silly trades that deal picks. The Moss deal is highly in our favor. Sure, Coles did well this past season, but Coles will never be half as good ever in his career as Moss was in 05. We came out much better. Its just that when draft picks get involved, Danny Boy loses control. If your expecting no. 6 overall for Samuels, get lost. Its not happening. Redskins Nation would hunt down Samuels, plus, Danny Boy just wouldn't do the deal.

If its a trade you'd want, you'd be better off trading both of your 1st rounders for our 1st, so you could get CJ. But thats very un-Patriot like. You guys would replace hard working players with no names who flourish. Course, its us that picks up these vets, and they blow here for millions of dollars.

And we traded 2 No. 2s for a high 2nd last year. Bad trade, IMO, but at least we got Rocky.

But, Gr8est, you put it best, we do love our Spring Bowl (i know you said Summer, but March is in spring and thats when FA comes along).

Of course the Redskins will be interested in Samuels, he is the biggest cb name on the market. Thats what the foreskins do, overpay for the guys that had the most plays on sportscenter. Don't you guys realize that players only go there to get paid? Why else would they want to go to Washington? Because of old man Gibbs?LOL..That guy is so past his prime its not funny. He looks lost out there on the side lines. It anyone was worthy of being yanked from the HOF it would be Gibbs. Have you guys noticed once free agents go to Washington they stop playing? Its because they have got payed. When you draft players you build them up through the system and they are hungery to win and get better, also to get paid one day. Your front office makes the most idiotic moves ever. The only reason you guys traded for Duckett was to keep him from the Eagles. Once Gibbs got word the Eagles had interest in Duckett he had to overeact and get him. What will be real funny is when he walks in free agency and signs with the Eagles for the vet minimum.LOL..If your front office could evaluate talent they would have realized how good Betts was and would not have had to make that stupid move. Brandon Lloyd is a cancer and a bust. Archulleta is the highest paid special teamer in NFL history. I can keep going but I don't want to make you feel even worse.

Err... nice way to join us. Why don't you put a little more thought into your next post.

Well, like the posters from Extremeskins, I like visiting other boards and reading others opinions. This is what I got from Extremeskins.

To the Redskins fans who are following this thread, the Pats will not let a player go for mere ducats. The Pats do not find their diamonds in the top ten, mid round and later are what they like. Samuel will not go for mere ducats when future picks can be stockpiled, so if Snyder really wants him, be prepared.

You are not being laughed at as a fan base. Your front office needs to build on the draft and trade wisely to stockpile picks for the next year. The draft is the way to go. If you visited this site during the season, you would've noticed at least a daily thread on the status of Seattles first rounder. That's what makes this franchise so successful, the draft. Btw, welcome to patsfans.

I don't think it will happen but... the only scenario I can think of from a draft perspective is if Calvin Johnson or Joe Thomas slip to Washington at #6 and we trade our 2 #1s for their pick.

Trade Value
Washington 6 - 1600

NE 24 - 740
NE 28 - 660
Total 1400 which means we are 200 points away or mid 3rd rounder.

The benefit for the Pats is that if they think Johnson is a game breaker or Thomas can be a starting LT they would have the player under contract for 6 years.

No way this happens, not even Washington is that silly... plus the salary for a #6 pick is likely a lot more than the Patriots would like to pay a rookie.

Vernon Davis was a #6 pick last year, Contract Details
"The 49ers signed Davis to a five-year contract on July 28, 2006. The deal is worth close to $25 million, according to ESPN"

Just a dream but imagine having a dominant LT or WR like Johnson....

Imagine how our roster would look if we drafted in the top 10 more often. The one guy we've taken up there has had a HOF career for us.

No, it's not the Redskins fans who are being laughed at, it's their dumbass owner, who does everything the polar opposite of what the Pats currently do, that's the clown. These Synder Skins have something in common with the Pete Carroll/Bobby Grier era of the late 90's where both of our drafts were downright shambolical for the most part. The difference is we just sucked at picking the right guys back then, meanwhile the Synder Skins haven't even been in the opportunity to draft properly as many of their picks have been recklessly discarded.

During the past six years we've signed TWO marquee FA's... Roosevelt Colvin and Rodney Harrison. We sure as hell don't trade draft picks for 30ish year old veterans. Pioli had the perfect quote about the importance of the draft. I tried Google, can somebody fill me in? I know it's in a sig somewhere on here.
