Trade up, trade down or stay put?

Second there are only four QB's available (P Manning, Flynn, Luck and Griffin) to fill the needs of seven clubs that need a QB. However unlike last year, no teams appear willing to take a Weedon or Osmierer or Tannyhill in the first round. Not really good for us.

Last year going into the draft nobody expected that many QB's to go in the 1st and it was a considered a "surprise". IMO its just teams holding their cards close to their chest. I fully expect Tannyhill to go in the first and maybe another team to grab a QB in the late first.

Trade up!

I want Devon Still and dont want to take the chance of letting him get away from us.

I don't see a real reason to trade up. Positionally, I'm most interested in a DT/DE in the first round and there should be a decent one available at #27. I think there are six that are probably mid-first to early-second round talent in Poe, Brockers, Still, Cox, Worthy and Reyes.

I'll second that. He's not flashy. But, I think he projects well to a de in our defense. 31 and 63 should get us into the late teens. I'd love to snag Barron at 27 and McClellin at 48. Pretty sure we address wr thru free agency. I'm not concerned about OL as long Light and Waters return. Pretty sure Connolly re-ups. And, I'm fine with him too.

I don't see Claiborne falling at all. His official 40 time was solid enough at 4.50 and I'm sure he will improve it at his pro day because the official combine times are almost always slower. And with CB being a high demand position and this being a relatively weak class at the top, he is clearly the top guy. I think Tampa Bay is still the favorites to grab him at 5, although Minnesota could be a darkhorse at 3. Either way I don't see him getting out of the top 10.

4.5 is glacial for a CB. He has got to be falling and falling fast.

Trading up still does not make sense because of one big fat reason: injuries. It is very risky to invest a lot of draft picks in a single guy instead of trading back and getting quality depth. Depth is very very important because of injuries...

Not a fan of Still. He goes MIA too often. Don't trust a PSU player either.

Wouldnt that all depend on what kind of player you're getting when you trade up? If you can get your hands on someone like Revis could a trade up make sense?

Sometimes it's better to have 1 great player than a few garbage players.

Still a gamble. If everyone knew how good Revis was then he would have gone in the first pick in the 2007 draft. And for every Revis there are ton of washouts.

It's all a gamble, trading back is a gamble on not getting the great player and getting a lot of Darius Butler/Ron Brace players, the real question is if a gamble makes more sense than the alternative.

My answer to BB (like he needs it) is: it all depends. do what he thinks is best for the team. It also depends on who is picked up in FA by that point.
