Trade Cole Strange to a Team That Runs A lot of Outside Zone

You ask a question..

You then immediately answer your own question. Classic.
I’m sure you zeroed in and watched a lot of Bell tape. It’s also odd how he could earn max snaps on special teams and a roster spot on one of the better units in the league but be poor at blocking… you’d think the special teams coach Vrabel retained would have noticed that?

We need to come around to the reality that Cole Strange was NEVER a 1st rounder.

Can’t value him the same way as a true 1.

He was a 3rd rounder who Bill took in the first.

Pats luck drafting OL has been rough for a while…including last few years.

Hopefully this years picks pan out to be serviceable.

Not suggesting he is Gronk reincarnate. Just pointing out that for an undrafted TE that likely doesn't even make the roster, he has interesting measurables. Could be a blocking TE/FB maybe, starting out on the PS for now.
It will be interesting to see how Josh McDaniels plans to use Dippre

But yeah, way too early to compare him to a top 5 all time TE.
So we shouldn’t consider Moses, Diggs, Landry, Davis, Williams, or Spillane starter either because they have played ZERO games for the Patriots?
i just don’t like the term entrenched starter for someone who has done nothing for us yet. The meaning should imply they are proven and have earned cachet over time. The terminology doesn’t make sense to me.

It’s like someone was asking me who was our deep threat last year with the opinion Tyquan Thornton should be considered such when he had done nothing in the field to earn that title yet. Our team had no credible deep threats. Period. because it wasn’t earned.

So was I…. 4th fewest sacks and 5th lowest sack percentage in 2021, to three straight years of being one of the worst pass blocking units in the NFL.

Those ^are team stats. In 2021 they gave up the 4th fewest sacks in the NFL… then Kevin O’Connell arrived and that changed for the next three years to league worst.

And yet you claimed I was using PFF grades. Which I wasn't.

I could care less about what the ENTIRE LINE did. I'm focused on how poorly Bradbury has done in Pass protection during his entire career.
That's what the Stats show. Bradbury gives up a pressure every 21.4 pass protection snaps.. Compared to 1 in 35 that we saw with Andrews over his career.

You attempting to blame O'Connell when this has been a consistent issue for Bradbury over his career is you ignoring reality.

The Milton Williams isn’t a entrenched starter? Bradbury has started over 80 NFL games, started every game since his rookie year, and was given a starter level contract. Hes a former first round draft pick, for the sake of pedigree.
Everything available says he came here with both sides expecting him to be the starting C. He wouldn’t have signed here without that expectation and they wouldn’t have signed him to that contract without that execration. His cap number is higher than Moses.

If we are parsing a word, just say so, but I’d rather talk football than semantics.

Kurt Warner, Wes Welker, John Randle, James Harrison, Antonio Gates…….
Naming 5 out of about 10,000 or so isn’t the own you think it is.

I think Bell and Dippre are 2 different players
Bell is an athlete who can block a little
Dippre is an OL that has soft hands and can run a little bit

I wasn't drafting for any of those teams.
So, you believe that you are better at drafting than ALL 32 other teams.

Vrabel was. He didn't think that Chism was worth a 6th or a 7th.
=========
Surely, if Chism was almost sure to have a good chance to make our 53, Chism would have been drafted in the 6th or 7th.
========
And, just BTW, I wouldn't have drafted him either. I would have drafted Larison and either Lampe or Dippre.

Bell is over 2 inches shorter and 15 lbs lighter than Dippre, but noticeably faster.

The McVay thing has been twisted way outta context (imo anyways). I think the guy was laughing because he thought he had a shot to take him in R3, not laughing at Bill for picking him (and I hated the pick btw).

Don’t see much reason to trade him, more value in seeing what he can do competing to make the team

Yes I think that was reported multiple times right after the draft.

High ankle sprains can be worse than a broken bone. Look at Duggar last year, Mayo kept playing him but he should have gone on IR. Duggar had surgery for his high ankle sprain after the season. With last year's staff there is no way to know what was going on. I agree - what happened to Sow last year. All we can say is let's wait and see what happens this year with a new, competent, objective minded coaching staff.

Think there was something about a broken fibula with Sow from the sprain …could be wrong…

Suggesting Bradbury played poorly on a top five ranked offensive line is peak foolishness. Moreover ignoring how that OLine was exceptional until O’Connell took over and suddenly the line started giving up league worst sacks despite having the same good players like Darrisaw, O’Neil, Bradbury etc is missing the trees for the forest.

I think a player on a top ranked special teams unit coached by a great special teams coach earns his max minutes playing time.

I also saw multiple plays by Bell on offense where I thought boy that 88 guy made a good block and said so in game threads.

I have no personal stake in Bell doing well…. he just stood out. The fact is I thought Wolf’s draft class was mostly crap outside of Maye, Bell caught my eye.
