Tonight's game

It's gonna be a fresh relief to have specific player performances or non to talk about instead of 43 Mankins threads.

I expect that to last about a day, maximum. The Rams are so bad that any good performances from the Pats will be shrugged off quickly, perhaps rightly so. I don't expect this to be a game of revelations like the first two have been.

Does anybody know if it's gonna be on live in Canada? I had Star Choice and can't see it listed anywhere. I guess I've gotten spoiled being able to watch the first 2 pre-season games live. Looks like I'll DVR the NFLN replay.

I think the best hope would be CBS in Atlantic Canada (assuming CBS East for Star Choice is Boston based). I saw somewhere online that Sportsnet East are carrying the game, but when you look at their website, it shows that the Jays/Tigers game is being shown this evening and that is what is shown on my TV Guide (Aliant TV in Halifax).

According to my TV guide CBS (which is Boston based here) is not showing the game, it shows something about Patriots All Access, but no game. However, according to the CBS Boston website they are carrying the game, but that would be the only hope I think.

We have WBZ here (channel 22)and on our tv's schedule it has big brother on and not the Pats game.

Correct, excepting that this is a game to watch to evaluate who'll make the last of the 53. Absences from ST plays is a leading indicator of being cut for the bubble boys. McKenzie, Murrell, Alexander and others. Meanwhile we get another look at rookie locks like Tate and Price.

Does anyone have any idea how long the starters are playing tonight? Also do you think -6.5 half time point spread will be covered.

Exactly, that is what is showing on my guide as well. However, given that the WBZ website shows the game being aired tonight I am keeping my fingers crossed.

The starters are expected to be out for around 3 quarters. But with BB, who knows?

Unforunately, the CBS we get for the East is Buffalo...

I've got the DVR set for the game replay on the NFLN and I'm only working tomorrow afternoon so I'll watch it tomorrow morning.

Trending Positive
  • Haven't committed a turnover in the preseason (only other is Minn)
  • #1 in plays over 20 yards (11)
  • Only allowed 1 play over 20 yards
  • 57% 3rd down conversions (Pitt and Wash tied for 2nd at 50%)
  • #1 in punting with 44 yard net and -5 total return yards allowed

Offense needs to continue protecting the ball, sustaining drives and making big plays when available. Defense needs to continue avoiding big gainers and forcing teams to settle for FGs. When the offense does bog down, ST needs to continue changing field position and helping the defense with a long field.

Needs Work
  • No turnovers forced during ones-vs-ones
  • Allowing 44% 3rd down conversion rate
  • 28% of opp rushes result in 1st downs
  • 3.8 ypc rushing

First team defense needs to get off the field more consistently (stops and especially turnovers). While the rushing attack has shown positive signs, still too many negative runs, which is reflected in the low YPC stat.

Overall, so far so good against 2 solid teams. Not a great time to see a down Rams team but you play the team on the schedule. Stay the course, stay healthy and release the hounds against the Bengals in a couple of weeks.

In the words of Andy Samberg, "Awwwwwwwwwwwwww ****" Can't wait for some fake football!

I wanna see:
1. No injuries
2. About a (successful) 50/50 run/pass mix
3. Cunningham on the field
4. Brace build on his work from last week, someone needs to spell Wright
5. No 20 play drives allowed ffs
6. Maybe something from Tate or even Price
7. McCourty take a step over Butler

With the first preseason game set for this week, you might already be making plans to watch the game. You’ve probably already heard that the preseason games have moved in Boston from WCVB channel 5 to WBZ-TV channel 4. What if you live in another state and don’t get WBZ-TV?

Here is the list of TV affiliates for the preseason games around New England:

-Massachusetts-
Boston, Mass. …………………………WBZ-TV Channel 4 (Flagship)
Springfield, Mass. …………………… WWLP-TV Channel 22

-Rhode Island-
Providence, R.I. …………………………………WNAC-TV Channel 64

-New Hampshire-
Manchester, N.H. ………………………………..WMUR-TV Channel 9

-Maine-
Portland/Auburn, Maine………………………..WMTW-TV Channel 8
Bangor, Maine ………………………………………WVII-TV Channel 7

-Connecticut-
Hartford/New Haven, Conn. ………………….WCTX-TV Channel 59

-Vermont-
Burlington, VT. …………………………………..WVNY-TV Channel 22

In addition, there are also affiliates in Alaska, Hawaii and Canada:

-Hawaii-
Honolulu, Hawaii…………………………………..KGMB-TV Channel 9

-Alaska-
Anchorage, Alaska ……………………………….KIMO-TV Channel 13

-Canada-
Maritime Provinces…………………………….Rogers Sports Net East

Theses are for the Patriots’ games on Aug. 13, Aug. 20 and Sept. 3. All games are shown live. The other preseason game on August 28 against the Redskins is a nationally televised game on CBS.

The familiar team of Don Criqui and Randy Cross will call the games on the Patriots Preseason TV Network, with WBZ-TV’s Steve Burton serving as the sideline reporter.

Lets hope so us here never miss a Pats game(we have every one all year long).

I love you, boy.

This is my first five-star thread.

Of course I'm the only one that voted.

Have you ever considered talking to the folks at Gamblers Anonymous?

I'd settle for McCourty to take a step over Wilhite and Wheatley after tonight.
