Tomlin:Assume communications system will work in New England.

Tomlin is just creating a distraction after the brown fiasco to make more mediots talk and respond about this and lead into patriots cheating episodes and all the stories from 2004 etc.

Yesterday WEEI was mentioning how one pitts writter (probably Ed bouchette) wrote that teams last met in the playoffs in 2004 when the patriots "may have cheated".

Having the media stir a cauldron of cheat talk to serve as a misdirection for Brown's FB gaffe is friggan stupid. What a major miscalculation.

Yea, lets piss of the Patriots with something that cuts right to their core.....real smart

This game is ovah.

Well, we already know he wants to keep social media (and hence bulletin board material) low key.

Seems a wise course of action given the head start AB has given us. Also, he might have learned that the league office controls the communications equipment.

If this was a response to a media question, I think that's more on the mediot. Although we do already know Tomlin is the NFL's leader in excuses.

This ain't Tomlin's first press conference. If he wants that narrative to die, he says something completely different, but he didn't, so...

Someone's getting warm Gatorade on Sunday!

Seriously, after the Chiefs game, he was already setting up the excuses about schedule and now this. What a total loser.

As BB said last time Tomlin was crying to the media, "Our program is built on competition and working hard and not built on excuses."

Mike Tomlin returns to stadium where he “always” has communications issues
But the not-so-subtle claim of cheating still exists on the Steelers’ website. Here’s the full entry: “This is the kind of stuff that happens to the visiting team in Gillette Stadium all the time. From the start of the game through the opening 14 minutes of the first quarter, the Steelers’ coaches’ headsets were receiving the Patriots Radio Network broadcast of the game. The broadcast was so loud that the Steelers coaches were unable to communicate, and the NFL rule is that if one team’s headsets are not working the other team is supposed to be forced to take their headsets off. It’s what the NFL calls the Equity Rule. Strangely enough, whenever an NFL representative proceeded to the New England sideline to shut down their headsets, the Steelers headsets cleared. Then as the representative walked away from the New England sideline, the Steelers’ headsets again started to receive the Patriots game broadcast.”

Complete ********.

I and others on this board who have varying degrees of engineering-level experience with RF transmission and frequency calibration proved this to be a falsehood.

God this ignorant **** really gets under my skin.

Since when do facts stand in the way of a perfectly good narrative ?

I was hoping not to be worked up emotionally for this game until Saturday or Sunday. Thats out the window now....

Come January it usually is a full time job :)

That and I loethe the Squealers. Bunch of front-running, whiny beeitches.

I say let all the communication systems on both sidelines go out, then we'll see who can better coach under those limitations. The result will be obvious.

It is already obvious. Belichick plans for every possible scenario every game. He even takes into account the wind speed at game time. I am fairly certain he plans for Comets, rogue Asteroids, Alien invasions and Sharknadoes.

That stuff is mostly controlled by the league so he can ask Roger about it.
