very true... cosell was the most hated reporter ever... yet, that is exactly what made him great... in reporting, you can be either good or controversial... where would you place:

felger
they each have a very clear role... just ignore the non-reporters, and they will be sh!tcanned.

Felger's alright. Sure, he tries to be controversial - but he does it for "ratings" - it's not personal like Borges' agenda.

For all of you living in the New England area. DO NOT WATCH FELGERS NEW SHOW ON FOX SPORTS NET NEW ENGLAND THIS FOOTBALL SEASON. It begins airing at 7:30 this Thursday after New England Tailgate which airs at 7:00. Felgers show - called Four Downs with Felger - includes co-hosts(?) Russ Francis, Don Banks of SI, and Ron Borges. Felger stated that if the POM-POM waving of the 7:00 show isn't your thing - his will be. Now, I would certainly have watched the show had Borges NOT been a regular. It's not the the critism that bothers me (I question the Pats' moves all the time)- it's that it has become personal. I do not listen to the WBCN pre-game show because of Borges. I no longer subscribe, nor purchase the Globe, because of Borges and I will not watch this show - because of Borges. For all fo you that dislike Borges' style - I suggest you boycott anything he is affiliated with, including Four Down with Felger. It's all about the ratings. If the ratings blow - this show won't last beyond this year.

I live in Redskin territory so the only (local) Pats related talk I get comes from FSN (thank god for satellites) so I will try to refrain from watching but I know deep down it is out of my control. I may need to have the wife block channel 620 from 7:30 to 8pm on Thursday nights using the parental control. Or maybe I can find a Patriots anonymous group.
