Actually, I believe they have it backwards: he pizza'd (snowplowed for us older folks) when he should have french fried (paralleled) [on the jump].

When I saw the title, I thought it was a regular fall while skiing which is not really bad as you need to be unlucky to get injured from a ski fall.

This is different though. He is trying to do a stunt which is really not cool given that he does not look like he is a good skier (skiing down that slope, he does not have a good form unless he was not trying) and falls like those can be really bad. I am surprised he attempted it. Was happy to see the skies come off though...worst case scenario is for the skies to stay on during a fall...that's how all the bad knee injuries happen.

Yes, I know quite a bit about skiing...and am surprised he would try such a stunt, even though the slope looks mild, it's too large a risk for my liking.

The jumps started ok, however, he let his center of gravity carry him forward over his tips. If he would have sat back he would have had a nice jump. Once the arms start swinging forward though, rookies are going to forget everything else in order to regain the upright feel of a jump going bad. He did have the makings of a either a Daffy or a Reverse Iron Cross before competing yet another touchdown.

I'm, available for instruction, should he need it.

Man, for a reasonably athletic guy, that was ugly.

The whole "It’s hard for me to get hurt" comment in the King interview just makes me nervous. Bad juju. I got the same shiver reading that that I got when he made his "read the rule book" comment, and we know what that led to.

49 years ago after winning the Cy Young award and taking ( along with Yaz) a ninth place team the year before to the American League pennant and game 7 of the World Series, Lonborg tore his knee (?ACL) while skiing and all hopes for a repeat failed.... Memories last...

as a 40 year skier, he had no business trying that considering how he set up for the jump and/or adjusted his body when he went off it even though he was playing. I know what he was trying but what he did showed me he had no idea how to do it (backscratcher)... that was ugly (lol).

Yes. It's him.

Have a look at the photo in this report. He's still got the same ski jacket (thanks, Under Armour!) and it's exactly the right height and build.

TGR knows all about skiing and I believe this report (but -- gawd! -- if he's the fastest skier in the club I shudder to think how crappy all of the rest of them are).
