WHAM! Like a modern day Daniel Graham.

It's funny......I see Develin lined up wide at the top of my screen against Talib. I start explaining to my brother that they do that so they can switch offensive pakcages without substituing but that they would never throw him the ball wiht Talib on him....but oh wait, they did just as I was finishing my thought.

At one point, Develin was lined up wide, with white in the backfield. Really confused me since I can't remember him ever lead blocking for JW.

I think BBs legitimately trying to get him to extend his game to be able to handle TE duties. That, and he'd be a great blocker on screens.

It's been years since I've seen a true full back blocking like Lorenzo Neal.

These days many teams don't use a full back, we are one of the few teams that use a full back consistently.

He should make the pro bowl this year.

Last year run game without him, oh we didnt have ground game last year.
He and Marcus Cannon.....

The Patriots need to run more play action from that Big Set and throw to James Develin he's aload to bring down. His Blocking reminds me of Sam Gash one of the best Blockers we had at FB in the past.

he had a great game, im surprised they haven't tried giving him the ball on any of these 1 yard runs but I think they only ever did it that one time so maybe I shouldn't be

Unsung hero of the game.

This game his snaps doubled from the 2016 norm, even from last few games when his snap count started trending up, after Gronk gone.

I guess they are still experimenting with options at 2nd TE position because they simply dont have a complete #2 TE. Denver game showed glimpses of 3rd and 4th options - Develin and even McClellin (1st and 2nd being Lengel and Fleming). It will be interesting to see how this goes in the next two games. Adding another dimension in Develin (his skill set certainly allowing as he did caught some key balls in 2014 IIRC) could be huge for the playoffs. Maybe Develin can turn into NE Reece (in terms of versatile use) down the stretch ..
