He's had 6 years and has never lived up to his draft status. He's been good at staying healthy, but he's never had 700 yds or more than 4 tds in a season. I would rather see what we have in Bell and Dippre thanks waste a roster spot on Fant.

Who cares about his draft status? He is not a great blocker so I am guessing Vrabel will pass on him.

I mention draft status because guys picked in the first round often get a much longer leash, and other teams often think they can "fix" a former first rounder. He's most certainly not a good blocker, but he was drafted because his speed and thoughts were he would be a seam stretcher. He has never lived up to those expectations. Again, I would pass on him.

Agree. Between Henry/Hooper and the intriguing rookies, NE seems set at TE for now.

Hunter Henry is one of the most liked player on the team and he never had a 700 yds season. In fact Henry best year is only 1 yard better than Fant best year.

I would take Fant over Bell and Dippre in a heart beat.

What is the matter with you? This guy is better than everyone not named Hunter Henry in the TE room.

I would take Fant over Bell and Dippre in a heart beat.

Watched him quite a bit at Iowa and in the NFL, color me unimpressed. Stick with Hunter/Hooper and see if one the young guys can develop. He was pegged as a speed guy, seam stretcher. His career avg/rec is lower than Henry's, so he has not brought the dynamic element to the NFL that people expected and he isn't a good blocker. Pass.
