Thoughts on Galloway and Nunn

The widely chattered on "out of the EZ" play is one ANY of WR's could have blown. I think it's a mis-step, but showed me something about the timing coming. He was tangling with a defensive player and looked up at the last second to grab the ball.

I think it was bad luck more than anything else that cost that TD. It was almost there.

Within three more games we can indict or pardon Joey, but I'm not quite ready to go there yet.

I'm not judging him on one play, or even one game. I'm basing my opinion on three games.

I give you that JG was invisible in game 1 but he did catch 5 balls in the 2nd game. And he caught 2 last game and was wide open on a few more and would have hit 5 catches again had Brady been on. 5 catches a game translates to 80 catches a season which is not exactly terrible.

What is horrible however is the numbers tied-in to those receptions. And it speaks to the improper way that JG has been used this season.

Galloway's average yards per catch this season is 9.6. It's nothing for him to average over 17. Galloway's longest reception this year is 19 yards. He's had years where he has averaged over 19 yards per catch.

JG is being used as a possession guy when he should be used as a downfield threat. As such, it's unfair to be critical of him. If he falters when used correctly then have at 'er.

But back to the original question, how long do you wait for this to happen? 3 more games? 6 more games? If in 3 weeks Brady is back to his usual form, Welker is back and then JG still isn't making plays 2 or 3 games after that, how long can you just allow it to continue?

JG is good to go right now. I mean all he needs to know is a few post and fly patterns. I expect Welker is back this weekend or next at the latest so not long there. Moss is good to go. As is Watson. So, it's all up to Brady and how soon he gets his arse into gear.

Don't forget Tate. If he's healthy by week 7 or 9 and Galloway still isn't cuttin' it, he might well be the guy.

:agree: I think Tate brings more speed to be deep threat (assuming that he can play WR in the nfl) and he can contribute more on special teams than Nun.

I work with a long time Seattle fan and he says Galloway is a ****y. Won't fight for balls. Gets alligator arms. Does not go over the middle well. Doesn't do well in traffic. That's what I see also in what little of the games I have seen so far. Remember when Seattle had all these receivers that had the dropsies. Was he one of them?

I hope he proves me wrong.

Galloway has 689 caree catches and 10,777 yards. Otherwise, they're exactly the same.

Do you guys even read what you write? He's definitely miscast with the type of routes he's assigned, but come on now. Outside of both being members of the human race, there is little common ground with Bethel.

While I agree with your comment in general, past performance for a player in their late 30s, especially in a new system, is completely irrelevant.

Certainly no moreso than comparing said late 30's NFL player to someone (Johnson) who doesn't even play football.

Not saying Galloway doesn't have the dropsies or that he will fight for the ball as one might want but, he's fought and caught long enough in this league to accumulate 689 catches for almost 11,000 yards. Not many can lay such a claim.

I'm sure if BB agreed with your astute analysis then he'll cut Joey tonight and bring Troy back tomorrow.

I know you were being sarcastic, but if BB thought Troy could still play, I think it would be done by Tuesday!

Galloway should never, ever be on the field in a Goal-to-Go situation, during which his strengths are minimized and his weaknesses are exposed.

I think Tate will be utilized first as a return man. He was the best

return man in college football. He will be starting from scratch at

the wide receiver position.

IMO, Galloway is done. He has been garbage this season.

There I said it on here and now I feel much better. I would have done cartwheels in my living room (if I wasn't 30 year old out of shape dude), when I found out he was inactive yesterday.

People can say eroding skills, timing with Brady etc... but when the hell do you see WR's lose their catching skills with age????

LOL! in hindsight, this post is incredibly accurate, with a little help. Looks like JG was "good to go"... to any other team that thinks they can use him. He just needed to post and fly...out of Logan airport (looks like he's KC bound). But you were right, it probably was up to Brady to get his arse in gear... to tell BB to get JG out of the locker room. For good.

TB to JG on the sideline, "d%#*!@t, Joey, it's not that f*cking hard".

So... Nunn gets actived or we see if Tate can get up to speed quickly enough?

What's the point of resurrecting this from the dead? Yes we know Galloway sucks, it really doesn't need 600 threads on the same 3 topics.

So instead of replying in an existing thread (this one) I should have started a new one? Sorry, Mr. Galloway.
