Nice work. Glad to see some folks come to Belichick's defense, if not for the call, at least for being a coach. Hate it when the criticism gets so damn personal, and for some reason pundits feel like they have to do that with him.

While I grant that there's plenty of room for legit criticism, I am continually appalled by the media's willingness to be petty - about anyone, but BB isn't their favorite, and so when he allegedly screws the pooch, they jump all over him with particularly despicable glee. Mainly because they so rarely get a chance to b/c he IS actually exceptionally good at his job.

It's so transparent and childish I want to puke when I read the cheap shots, but hey, he's a big boy, and it looks like he can handle them.

when BB first took over, I questioned everything he did...after doing things I thought were contrary to MY perception of how NFL football should be played, and WINNING at it, I've learned to just shut up and enjoy what he does. I still do. And no dumba$$ critcisms are gonna change that.

Perfectly put. Same here. ('Though every now and then I reserve moments of "DEION BRANCH?! In the SECOND round?!" and "Sebastian WHO?!!" I try to learn quickly, but it doesn't always work.)

Amazing how some can still take Belichick/Brady for granted. Criticism is fine, it's part of what makes following sports FUN, but still...these are special times and they won't last forever.
