These players played over 200 snaps on defense vs the jets.

Mcmillan
Ekuale
Pharms
Hawkins
Uche

These players also played snaps.

Johnson
Dial
Giles
Ellis
Pettus.

The jets put up 400 yards of offense. 27 First downs. Often ran at will. Rodgers completed 77% of his passes.
Geno Smith completed 75% of his passes and threw for 327.

This is not the defense we used to have that you are giving it credit for being
We haven’t had a legit defense since SB53. When they were able to stop good teams.

Don’t know why all of this is so shocking now…

Let me ask you. Would hiring a coach that you think would have been better or more experienced have suddenly changed the teams direction from rebuilding? No matter who came here to coach the team was going to have to be rebuilt.
I would've liked to have seen a more experienced Coach. If Bob is going to get rid of Bill, then he should've cleaned house completely. You don't fire Bill, but keep his disciples. I think that's dirty.
They want to win! I believe Mayo's a great hire. I believe he's also doing a great job.
I'll wait until the end of the season before having an opinion on Mayo in regards to the job he's doing.
Yeah Thursday was a ass kicking however I believe this team is more of who they showed to be that previous 2 weeks. Let's support our team.
If I was a Jets fan, I wouldn't have been impressed with the win. They struggled for those 24 points against an inexperienced HC and poor roster at home. And they were fist pumping when their defense got stops against a terrible Pats offense. This reminded me when Rodgers told the reporter after the home opener against a terrible Bears offense "We have a defense" - only for that defense to get ripped to shreds in the playoffs..

People really thought this defense was “great” last year and it was all the Qb that made 4-13 happen.

Reality check time.
They are overachieving right now despite Mayo/Covington and the talent they have on that side of the ball. But the cracks are starting to form. SF may round into form this week and could go off on the Pats at home.

They weren't even that great in 2018 until the game that mattered the most.

I will say they were really good against the Chefs in the AFCCG first half which should've been enough time for Tom to get a commanding lead, but he reverted back to his old days and throwing a pick in the end zone to allow the team new life. Eventually, an offense like the Chefs will catch on and that's why they went off in the 2nd half - with some ref help.

Your post was very light at the beginning and dark at the end. I hope you are OK.

I was hoping for an offense that gets better every game, even if it’s baby steps.

So far I’ve been disappointed

I was hoping for a new management team that improved the team every off-season.

So far I've been disappointed.

Patriots defenses were always about bend but don't break.. teams were always able to move the ball but were were always stout in the red zone. I would not say the teams overachiever IMO they played to thier capability in the win..and had a few plays not go thier way in the Seattle game
The Jets game they didn't even show up.

San Francisco will likely be without CMC, Kittle and deebo.. if the secondary allows Purdy to go for 300 then you know what the defense isn't what I thought they were.

What's your opinion on Wolfe?
I'm being honest... I don't have any problem with wolf. I will critique him on the Offensive line. However He took over a 4-13 team with the 3rd overall pick. FA wasn't as desirable as Ridley was the top FA target at WR. Wether or not some fan choose to accept it. We are in a rebuild. The whole idea of this season was to create the foundation and get through it to FA 2025.

The pick was a no Brainer my Nephew could have made that selection.

Other than that I'm having a hard time finding any move that he made that is actually better than what it replaced?

I got one fore you DRAKE MAYE

I'm asking other than that which is something my Nephew could have done?

Wolf is alot smarter then me. So I'm looking at ok we have some pieces but not anything on offense that's game changing. They know the state of the team. I always viewed this season as a rebuild anyway. This team is incomplete. It's team in rebuild that is just trying to get through this season and be competitive.

Not really, the offers we received from Minnesota and nyg are tough to pass up imo and there was lots of questions circling maye pre draft. Many people were and some still are saying we should have traded down or taken Alt.

It was a pretty bold move to pass up those packages and select maye . If he doesn’t work out thats a major miss and it could lead to wolfe getting ousted in a few years. If maye does work out wolfe deserves his flowers.

Yeah I suppose so.

But even still nothing he's done has proven to be helpful at all. The fact that all you can point to is passing up on some draft day trades kind of proves my point.

Actually I just thought of one.....Slye. Lol going to need more than that. And as Ring6 has pointed out many times he had vast resources and still struck out.

You watched the 2023 Patriots go 4-13.
The coach/GM/decision maker was fired. Elliot Wolf was given control and expected to improve the team.
He was given the 3rd pick in each round and, after resigning some of our players, while losing others, so starting free agency a little worse than we were last year, he had over $60,000,000 to spend on free agents and full control of the draft.

Fast forward to last Thursday so we can assess how he did with that 60 mill and draft to improve the team.

Which players that he acquired with those assets contributed positively to make this a better team in Thursday? Where did we have new players that made us better than we were last year?

That is his job right?

how do you define rebuild? Doesn’t it mean you take steps to build upon? Where are those steps? Aside from the qb who was dropped in his lap that he refuses to play who did he acquire that is a building block?
If there aren’t enough players surrounding the Qb you picked #3, why didn’t you go get some?

The "rebuild" term was in reference to extending the length and girth of Thunder's lighthouse schmenza.
Where are those steps?
Resigning the core of a 4-win team, dumpster diving, and painting a diversity mural.
Aside from the qb who was dropped in his lap that he refuses to play who did he acquire that is a building block?
No blocks....but one of their "bridge" pieces abandoned the team after week #2.
Another "bridge" piece (stable pony) threw for 98 yds on Thursday

OL are overrated (a recurring Foxborough theme the past few years)
