Wolf spoke about Lowe this preseason like he was the second coming of Joe Thomas and swooned over the length of his arms. Lowe was penciled in as starter before a single practice occurred, he was clearly a Wolf guy and viewed as a starter.

Okorafor was the very first free agent signing by Wolf and one of the first signings by any team in the NFL this offseason... he was clearly a priority in Wolf's mind. You suggesting they didn't think much of these guys now that they suck is you protecting the new regime.

I remember reading a couple of positive things about him, and he's actually come a long way in terms of being a serviceable player. He's clearly not an all-pro, but when healthy, he's adequate enough to get you through a season. Albeit, he's not ideal by any means.

He's certainly not the guy you'll want starting any meaningful games in the postseason or during a championship run, but he's good enough for where they are currently, at least given their current depth chart. Don't get me wrong, I'm not comfortable with him being their only option, but I feel like he'll hopefully be decent enough to get them through 2024 until they can replace him next offseason.

I would say Wolf banking on Okorafor changing his stripes after what transpired in Pittsburgh is one thing I'd fault him for. Certainly put a lot of his eggs in the wrong basket there, albeit it's not like they didn't try signing other quality players. They just couldn't get anyone of note to agree to come here, which was our first look at being one of the teams we all sort of pointed fingers and laughed at over the years. Very frustrating.

I think he's getting better coaching this year than a year ago, which at least explains the step forward. I'm more upset over trading Pierre Strong for Wheatley...that one still irks me.

Lowe (59) was also beaten on that Mac Jones pick vs the Colts. Just a terrible position here perpendicular to the rush. No chance he was in position to block. Jones probably saw what was coming panicked and threw a back-foot special that lost the game.

I think someone (Breer?) reported that Jones suffered a stinger on a previous play, which supposedly also played a role in that. Which is frustrating because he clearly had Gesicki wide open and badly underthrew it.

None of these articles came out before Daniels game against a horrid Bengals D. You are correct it's not a matter if IF it's a matter of when he gets destroyed. IIRC he left the game after getting hurt in game 2.

Hey we had the third pick, they had #2, nothing we could have done. Trade up for one of the toughest postions to draft, nah, ask the 49ers how trey lance worked out, actually none of the top 5 first rounders in that draft turned out to be anything special.

I think Daniels is going to be a star in this league and I hope Maye is too. Yeah Daniels looks a bit slim, but a good comp would be Randall Cunningham, he has almost identical height, weight, and even plays like him as well and he had a pretty good career (at least the first 10 years). Hope they both do well.

He was both, their line was horrid and he pouted about it. Real winner signing in free agency, someone Wolf ran out to sign immediately as a starter… but you consider this the actions of a competent GM.

Lowe a 6th round pick with the size and length you want in a tackle just can't seem to stay on the field.
