Things a falling right for PatsNation

Be ready to hear the buzz word "tomato can" be thrown around a lot for the next 2 weeks.

Where the heck does that come from, anyway? Why tomatoes in particular? Are soup cans tougher opponents? Shouldn't tomato cans actually be more formidable, because of the extra lining material required to stand up to tomatoes' natural acidity?

As soon as Carr went down I saw the seedings form. The Steelers are not losing to Miami at home. So its either Houston or Oakland. What a horrible game it might be competitive though lol.. The AFC playoffs are gonna be **** this season.

Miami Steelers... not really a great game
Houston Oakland .. another bad game

Texans vs Patriots.. a laugher

KC vs Pitt - thats a good game.

AFCC should be a good/decent game.

We better destroy whoever it is

Boxing term.... (wiki)....The phrase originates in the childhood pastime of kicking a can down the street—a boxer is advancing his career with minimal effort by defeating a "tomato can" and notching a win. "Tomato" refers to blood: "knock a tomato can over, and red stuff spills out."

i think a game against the steelers would be significantly easier than KC
I think at home in the playoffs either opponent could be a comfortable win for us or a close win or a shocking loss. Anything can happen. But my prediction is when we face one or the other (we can only face one now with these seedings) we will win by at least two scores.

Pitt or KC will be a tough AFCC matchup. These teams are good teams, KC is more defensive orientated and Pitt is more Offensive orientated. New England is more balanced than both of the 2 AFC contenders. If we don't make it to the Super Bowl it will be a massive failure and disappointment.
We are both the best offense and the best defense in the afc playoffs.

Not just because they're often crushed?

Oakland Houston are not beating anybody any time soon.

Things landed perfectly for the Pats today.

It seems like things have been going our way since the season began.

-Goodell takes away our 1st draft pick but we end up with more 1st rounders on our team than ever.
-Goodell takes Brady away for four games and the team goes 3-1, Garoppolo looks like a starting QB (and his value goes up) and Brissett looks like a decent backup.
-The AFCW has three good teams who beat up each other and help the Pats get the 1st seed for the 6th time.
-Our AFCE opponents all struggle at the beginning and give us a big lead.
-We have to go to Pittsburgh but Big Ben isn't ticking that day.
-The Pats did lose Gronk, but it looks like the team still has enough firepower to make a serious run at the 5th SB win, especially now with Floyd falling onto our laps.
-Down the stretch most of the teams that needed to win to help us or lose to help us just Did Their Job.
-That left three of the three teams I despise the most, Denver, Baltimore and Indy, sitting at home watching the playoffs.
-And now, as we rest for the start of the playoffs, if Miami doesn't go to Pittsburgh and win, the Pats will be playing the winner of a game between two teams who might be using the backup to their backup QBs.
-If Brady and Garoppolo happened to disappear all of a sudden, I feel like Jacoby Brissett would come into the playoffs and go 3 games straight with 150 yards rushing, 1 rushing TD, 150 yards passing and one passing TD, and win each game 20-17.

I called this and I really do believe that Houston will win and come to Foxboro while Pitt will head to KC. Andy Reid is a great coach but terrible in the playoffs. I don't see them beating Pitt and expect a classic game against the Stiglers in Foxboro.

And we are concerned about a good / decent game against possible opponents for what reason?

And we are concerned about a good / decent game against possible opponents for what reason?

Not concerned, just pointing out that 3 of the AFC playoff teams are playing 2nd string or worse QB's in the playoffs.

So its offcial, our first game is either going to have Connor Cook (Rookie) Brock Osweiler (Playing like a rookie) Matt McGloin, or Matt More at Quarterback. None of those players are starting calivpber Quarterbacks

I imagine if we meet up with Miami again we'll be seeing Tannehill instead of Moore.

The Raiders / Texans have about as much a chance at winning in KC as Mr Furley has to bag Lana, fresh strawberries or not...

I thought this “falling right for PatsNation“ thread would be about this TEAM ..
.. earning HFA
.. going to the playoffs as healthy as one could ask for
.. getting new playmakers every game
.. becoming physically and mentally stronger each game
.. etc

Since all about this team seems to be “falling right“ the other circumstances are less and less relevant.
Playing at Foxboro .. right now it looks like the opposite team has to play near perfect and clean 60' game (no TOs, minimum penalties etc) to stand a chance .. if Pats can keep this energy and focus.

The only game Brady&co lost was after the bye week.
But it should be different now. No Collins distraction. No holidays. Not even victory Monday.
Its back to work tomorrow. (Improving on the sex thing)
Looking forward to whoever visits in two weeks ..

Imagine if Miami beat Pitt and then Oakland or Houston beat KC, That would be the easiest road to a superbowl ever. No excuses

I have better chances to win the powerball twice in a row AND get laid with my wife.

Disclosure: My wife wants to divorce me.

I would say things went about as well as we could hope for.

Which terrifies and delights me at the same time.

We didnt get much help this season (not having the 1 seed locked up despit being 13-2 is a sign of that) but today was a huge help from denver. We get the lighter road as we deserve being the #1 seed while kc -pitt will probably battle it out for the right to play us. More great news today is no more injuries and yes, floyd coming along nicely.
