Whatever you think about the defense this year, one thing is clear, it has had to deal with a lot of change, and is still evolving.
The starting secondary at the beginning of the season, plus the nickel corner who will play 60% of the time has played 11,2,5,7 and 5 games all season. (That works out to having about 2.3 of the 5 available in a given game) As of right now we have 1 of them and hopefully if Chung comes back that will make 2.
Clearly cohesiveness in the secondary, familiarity and team play is still being grasped for.
On the bright side, on of the spots is being filled by Arrington, who was a starter last year.
IMO, the safety position and nickel corner need to be sorted out now, so they can have some amount of experience working together. Chung is the question mark. Whether he comes back or not, the next 2 safeties need time playing together whether they will be the starters or the starter and primary backup.
Someone needs to emerge as the nickel corner and get reps to be ready for the playoffs.
I assume it is going to be Ihedigbo and Jones at S, and Moulden at nickel, but I think the time for trying guys out is over and its time to chose who will be out there in the playoffs and get them ready.
This week could be a good game for experience because there is a good chance we get a lead and face a pass only 4th quarter again.

This is an interesting thing to look forward to.
