Perhaps Tom should start calling him Saint Gabriel.

Go to the 5;20 mark - the replay of the TD - camera high behind TB

It's evident he was trying to hit a wide open Kevin Faulk at the goal line and simply overthrew him. In the original plan it may not have been the ill-advised pass most have claimed, just very badly thrown.

GREAT PLAY by a well-covered Gabriel.

That might be right, but on WEEI yesterday Brady joked that Faulk was too short and needs to get taller because he couldn't see him

No way he threw it that high over his head from that close.

That Stuff Goes Our Way These Days. Ain't it Grand?

The Bad Calls Go Our Way.

i love it when bad calls, judgement calls, close calls happen to go our way. for so many years bad calls have gone against the patriots. horrible, every game, to watch their runnner drop the ball but it's ruled "down by contact". when the sum***** really fumbled. pass interference whenn it wasn't. every time. maybe 20 times a season.

Some call it karma. lotta writers about success say, "yeah, i had good luck. but i was there in ze 1st place to GET the good luck because i'd done the work to get there. that's why i was there in the first place"

ii've watched nfl football for decades and i truly believe it's the good teams that get the good luck. and here we are, great spirit. keep it coming.

As someone alerady mentioned, Brady said yesterday morning on the radio that he didn't even see Faulk.

He's not a good running thrower. I'd agree if he was set.

I didn't hear the WEEI interview, in that case, I stand corrected.

In the meantime, the wide open Patriot was Faulk. That play was a mess on many parts. Gabriel made a monster play.

At first glance it looked like the pass went right through the hands of 4 different defenders, but from the EZ point of view, the pass wasn't as risky as it originally looked. The defenders were in a diamond-shaped formation and there was an opening in the middle, but it did require Gabriel to make the move that he did. If not, the man who was on him would likely have picked it off, but he was the only defender with a realistic shot at doing so.

Isn't Bridget a TALL girl?

As a Wide Receiver, she leaves a lot to be desired (all puns intended).

I know thats not his forte too, but the kool aid says he can't be that bad! It had too much heat for Faulk too.

Brady said:
“Lucky. I got away with one, but I’ll take it. Just a tight throw, running right, throwing left. You don’t get away with many of those. As soon as I threw it, I said ‘OhGod, why did I do that’ especially because it’s 21-6. I think Doug made a great catch.â€

This is what Brady said and as his reaction suggested that he knew he shouldn't have thrown the ball. I don't think Faulk was ever the intended receiver..

I heard him say after the game that he should never throw across his body like that, hence his reaction after letting that ball go.

Gabriel made a nice catch and has done some good things so far this season including scoring 3 touchdowns. I only look for him to get better as the season unfolds.

It really DIDN'T look like Faulk was the intended target.

Brady really put tossed it high, well over Faulk. If he was going to Faulk, who had inside position, he would have just fired it short.

That wasn't the case.
