For the record (pardon the pun), there are more records set but these are the best ones.

Yeah the PAT stat is truly strange. What odds could you have gotten from Vegas if you could hypothetically have get that at the end of regulation NE has 28 points and no traditional extra point kicks? 100-1?

I also like:

Biggest 4th quarter deficit overcome: 19.
Biggest 2nd half deficit overcome: 25.

(Previous records: 10, Patriots in SB49).

It's almost like:

37yr old Tom Brady: "Woo! I just set the record for biggest 2nd half and 4th quarter comebacks in SB history! Four titles, baby!"

39yr old Tom Brady: "Not bad. Here, hold my beer..."

Regards,
Chris

I like the one where they never led the game until sealing the win!

This isn't a "record", but it's amazing that of their 5 SB championships, this one was the biggest margin of victory. And yet not only was it a 25 point comeback, and not only was it scoring 31 straight points, but yeah, they never once led in regulation and only led on the final play of the game.

Amazing.

Without converting a PAT. They did attempt one but it missed.
That's interesting.
Was this the only SB in which the winning team did not make a single, One Point PAT?
Was it also the only SB in which either the winning or the losing team successfully made two Two Point PAT's?
Somebody must keep those stats.
Also, I am painfully aware that Da Bears scored 44 unanswered points in the 1985/86 SB, but were 31 unanswered points second to that record?

If Brady gets thevPatriots back to the Super Bowl it will mean he has played in 20 Championship games 12-AFC Championship games and 8 Super Bowls.

Off the top of my head, Denver led Washington 10-0 in one of the Super Bowls and Doug Williams led the Redskins to 35 second quarter points ( unanswered IIRC) on the way to a blowout win....

Final was 42-10, so that's 42 unanswered points. That game was on NFL Network this weekend. I saw the start until Washington took the lead. Denver owned the 1st quarter, then it all fell apart.

maybe more. With the Patriots offensive efficiency and the Falcons red zone defensive deficiency, You probably could have made a 500 to 1 bet. The odds are so slim I am sure how that game played out scoring 34 points without kicking an extra point is another record the Patriots own. A weird one lol.

When I was watching the game, Joe Buck mentioned that Brady had broken the Super Bowl passing record.

In my opinion, that's a pretty significant record and will be a part of Brady's legacy. I had no idea Brady was even close to that mark; all of a sudden these huge numbers and legendary stats were being casually discussed. But in the context of what was happening in the game at the moment Buck said it (historic comeback to win a Super Bowl), breaking the passing record was almost a footnote. It was just something happening in the background: "Oh by the way, Brady now owns the single game Super Bowl passing record".

Just goes to show you how much happened in that game and how crazy everything was. Still hasn't really sunk in yet. I believe that history will remember Super Bowl LI as the greatest pro football game ever played....nice to be on the winning end of that.

[Edited to remove that he set a personal career high in passing in a game]
