Re: the real problem for this team is......

who said BB sucks?

colvin was good value? since when? but OK.....3 LB's in his 9 years here....and the last one more than 6 years ago.......OK, if you say so

Mayo?
Guyton?
Banta Cain?
Seau?

What are you looking for?
This team has been as successful in his tenure as any team in a similar period with the possible exception of the non-cap era Steelers.
What do you want?

Re: the real problem for this team is......

heh.....more brainless comprehension

answer this.....who was the last good LB value the pats have brought in via draft or FA or anything?

Mayo was defensive rookie of the year.
Guyton was an UDFA who starts.
Banta Cain was a 7th rounder who contributed, then a cheap FA who leads the team in sacks.
Seau contributed at about the vet minimum.
Pierre Woods has been on the team for 4 years as an UDFA.
Those are all very good VALUE.
The only reason there aren't more is because from about 2003-2006 we had the best LBs in the NFL and there wasnt room for anyone else to contribute.

Re: the real problem for this team is......

No, yo are criticizing the personell decisions of the man who inherited the worst team in the NFL in 2000 (PFW called it the team farthest from the SB) and had the best decade, close to the best decade ever.
That is simply STUPID.

you're hilarious.....what BB inherited was a team who was in the playoff hunt in december of 1999....what PFW said was some yahoo's (probably your twin)....to believe it was what was STUPID.....

I thought that this was a legit discussion on problems. If this denegrates into a multiple page libel towards the one person who is doing his job this year, I may have to go all out.

OK, the 1999 Patriots were 6-2 and finished 8-8 getting destroyed down the stretch. They disintegrated under Pete Carroll. They may have been the worst team in the NFL in the 2nd half of 1999.
The PFW writer that wrote that article was Joel Buschbaum who was not only one of the most respected NFL writers in the world, but was a guy who had BB, among other NFL coaches and GMs attend his funeral.
Let me get this straight though.
You think BB inherited a good team?

BB inherited a team with guys who he would not have won an SB without, and it was far from the worst in the NFL.....that thought is just STUPID, and it doesnt matter who wrote it......by the standards of your fantasies, the pats were 3 plays from being 11-5 that year

What did he have?
A QB he couldnt win with
No RB
No OL
No WR except for a malcontent (Troy Brown became a good WR under BB)
Not a single Dlinmeman
Bruschi who had not yet developed
McGinest
Law
Milloy

you cannot inherit a team with less than that.
Find a single NFL team today that has less than that.

gotta love your twisting and spinning.....fact is, without guys like brown, bruschi, mcginest, and and law, we ain't having this discussion.......guess kevin faulk doesn't count as an RB

Again you expect him to find 53 guys in a year?
Its ridiculous that you diminish what he did because there were 5 good players on the whole roster he took over. Tell me who won with less.

I never said that.......I have never diminished any of it......

read the original post, and this is where you took it.....the pats arguably have the worst LB group in the NFL and whose fault is that?

You are the one arguing that what BB inherited should get credit for him winning.

You've ignored my post about the value LBs and turned it into what BB inherited which was a disaster by any definition.

The team that was left at the end of the 2000 was aweful. Bleichick came in with a plan to be able to be a competiive team in his 4th or 5th year. It was a long, hard 5-year plan. And it took all that time. 2001 was a mirarcle. The 2002 team was better than the 2001 team and lost a tie-breaker for a playoff spot.

no....again, you have the comprehension of dried mud......I said he would not have won any SB's without the LB's he inherited.

Thats a ridiculous comment. No one could ever have won in 2 years without some of the players they inherited.
I comperehend your comment just fine, but it is competely ignorant.
You are saying that you discredit BB winning a SB in 2 years because he needed some of the players he inherited. That is a moronic comment.

Please respond to my list of 'value LBs"

Show me the 3 games where they were one specific reasonable play they normally make away and i would agree.

everything you have said is moronic.....I mean 'duh 3 plays from 10-2' ..... do you realize how idiotic that sounds?

so I ask again.........do you think BB has done a good job with the LB's on this team?

We literally are 3 plays from 10-2 and it is 3 plays we would make 95 times out of 100. Why do you find a problem with that. It doesnt mean we are 10-2, it means we better figure out how to make those plays when it matters and we can compete with anyone in the postseason.

I think BB has done a tremendous job with the roster. I think it is ignorant to segregate one position without recognizing the job is to build a team.

02 team wasnt better, because it wasnt as healthy. It was equal(possibly a bit better), but sustained more injuries, and frankly wasn't as hungry because they had won.
