DRAFT DAY DISCUSSION The Official Rounds 4-7 2013 NFL Draft Thread

Why do the Raiders take the entire clock to pick every time? It's day 3 for crying out loud. Let's get moving Reggie McKenzie. Wake the hell up!

If his prior drafts were better that catch might not have happened or mattered.

Yes, if Belichick drafted better, the Pats would have been 24-0 going into the Super Bowl with Brady throwing for 100 TDs in the season and Moss catching 70 of them.

The fact of the matter is the Pats were the most talented team in the league that year. If they won the Super Bowl, they might have been considered one of the most talented team of all time. They had a historic offense.

If the Pats didn't make the personnel decisions they made, the Pats would have continued their downward trend they were on starting in 2005 and would have been a mess by 2008.

I think looking at him as solely a coverage LB is foolish. But he does fill a need there because, as Vrabel pointed out a.) Fletcher isn't that good and b.) he doesn't stay healthy. Logically, if you're going to make a big deal about someone like Amendola being injury prone, I don't know why you'd overlook that same characteristic with Fletcher.

If you don't think coverage linebacker was a big need, I assume you agree pass rush is. So...again, I don't see the issue, particularly as they appear to have gotten two real solid guys in Dobson and Boyce.

He's a redundant player. You don't take redundant players that high up when you've got need/availability matchups unless the guy is an amazing prospect, and this guy wasn't that. This was a Jets move. Good teams generally know better.

I don't think you'll find many who agree with your position, but you're entitled to it.

Rush LB is not redundant.

I was just typing the same thing when I got interrupted.

A very smart man once told me that half the reason entertainers (athletes/writers/directors/actors) get paid is that they give a bunch of people a reason to *****. To a substantial part of the species that IS entertainment.

Jamie Collins is every bit of an amazing prospect. He has athleticism that is better than Dion Jordan who was taken 49 picks earlier.

4.6 ypc on 426 career attempts. Besides being a short yardage guy, if he really busted his butt in camp and lost some weight he could push Ridley. Good job BB.

Dumb move to trade for Blount. He's a POS at an unimportant position, and because of the tender the Bucs placed him at, we owe him 1.75 mil now that could have been spent on vet help elsewhere. Just draft a big RB in the 7th and save some cap space...

I'm late on this.... but I'm pissed we didn't take Quinton Patton...and even more pissed that he went to the 49ers. Maybe Da'Rick Rogers can fall to us in the 7th and I'll be happy

He's the 2nd best back on the roster already. He's certainly better than Demps too.

Some people aren't happy with ANYTHING the team does.

LOL. Of course they have.

Ummm... this very board was saying the same thing when the Jets were making their picks in round 1.

Perhaps you missed that.

Since you've decided to go with the snark, I think we're done here.

Just needs to learn to hold onto the rock...9 fumbles, 6 lost in 450 touches....

If he has problems fumbling, it's a head scratcher why the trade???

I would think a short yardage RB that has 0% fumble, for the goal line or 4th down situations would be ideal? No?

Would like to see in the 7th

Poyer/Rodgers

David Bass

Not really.... Ridley and Vereen are better. They didn't even want him as a backup there. Says something about his attitude.... I love our draft so far but this seems like a dumb move to me. Even if he looks the part, some people (Blount) don't get it.

Vereen is good as a 3rd down back & for a change of pace but if Ridley went down would you want him to carry the load?
