DRAFT DAY DISCUSSION The Official Rounds 4-7 2013 NFL Draft Thread

I think he's not really a 1-2 rd DT at all. I think he played around some great players on a great team and he's really going to get drafted where he should be. If there's one thing I learned over the past 3 years of following the draft, its that what you see on most writers/publications big boards/mock drafts is only about 70% consistent with what actual teams have on their big board.

I think its more we only get 70% of the information teams get. We only see what happens on the field, not medicals, character, work ethic, personality, coachability etc. Talent wise I think some of these guys are very good, there are just other issues beyond talent that makes guys fall.

They gave the 9ers fits last year. Add Long and all these guys and a couple of seasons who knows?

They really are attacking high upside picks. They don't care a fig about character. Good way to turn around a team quickly although might not be a good long-term strategy.

Just realized Michael Buchanan is still on the board, I'm really surprised. Any rumors around him?

Don't think so. Just a big fall off in performance and played on an Illinois defense that called it in last year.

Khaseem Greene to Chicago? There's the other Rutger we should of taken at 91. Homers need not reply. You're not changing my mind on that one.

If Jesse Williams fall into 7th round, should Patriots take a chance and pick him?

We still need a complement to Vince.

No worries, not even the homers liked that pick. A huge blemish on an otherwise solid-looking draft.

Depends on how bad the medical is?

He could go the next pick for all we know?

Could be, but the rumors about his medical status are pretty dire. Josh Boyd is another option.

The way I am looking at that 91st pick is this. I will not judge until he is actually on the field.

Yeah, I can usually find the reasoning in any pick and fall in line with Belichick but that was a over the top head scratcher.

Pittsburgh continues to run a great board

I think he's more projection than production right now. Great measurables but really needs to develop and add some weight/bulk. High upside but also big bust potential because he isn't a great pass rusher yet and really needs to improve against the run. He also has some major leverage issues that he will need to learn to overcome but with some good coaching and development I think he can be pretty good. 4th/5th rounds seems about right for him.

nickw308810 got the Logan Ryan as the first guy on his mock. kudos
