Re: What happened to Maroney?

I am no expert, but I think the issue may be a Patriot staple. I think its great that you guys can get that last little bit of excellence out of your aged vets. However, the idea may be getting a little old. Its hard to get a RB in a good rythym when there are 3 guys on the bench that do the same thing. Your RB's have no chance to get something going. I believe a 2 back tandem works, but a 4 back tandem is throwing too many hats in the ring.

Thank you Jets fan. We have 4 running backs and don't give them the ball enough to get one running back loose. Plus, I know I can guess it's a running play about half the time as soon as Brady gets the snap. I don't know why, but it seems the defense can too.

Maybe trying to get Maroney and Taylor untracked in a couple games might help Brady get the rust off and get his rhythm with receiver # 2, 3 or 4 down so He and Moss can quit getting pounded and start hooking up on some open big plays.

Running the ball can be fun. the Patriots make it look like going to the Dentist - something you have to do sometime.

Re: This one's on Brady

Believe me, its extremely hard for me to admit it as well. But Tommy would be the first one to admit it, this ones on him.

If two of those FGs were TDs, we'd have won by 1 again this week. If all three were TDs, we'd have looked like the Patriots. Not that far off, if you ask me.
Yeah, I know if wishes were horses....

Re: I know I will get slammed for this...but what is with halftime adjustments?

I thought that, outside of the last 5 minutes of the Bills game, BB and his staff have been outcoached in both games thus far.

Considering who those two coaches are, that's troublesome.

Re: This one's on Brady

Brady had a bad game. But to say this is on him is ridiculous.

- Brady missed open receivers. He was not in sync. That's on him.
- The OL failed to protect him leting him get knocked down play after play
- The OL failed to run block consistently when it HAD to be done
- Moss was MIA, blanketed by Revis
- Galloway was putrid
- OC calls are too predictable. Josh is missed.

Other than that, yeah the poor offensive production was "on Brady" and not the other 10.

Especially that one. Fully agree on all your points. OL failed miserably in all areas.

Re: Couldn't have been more wrong

Wake up people. One ******* loss and we're talking like this team is being re-built.

I realize the pundits continued to pound it down our throats like we didn't know, but yes Bruschi, Harrison, Seymour are gone. But out of those 3 guys, 2 of them were absolutely done. I can tell you for a fact this defense would have been worse with a slow safety and MLB. As for Seymour, I think it really hurt us losing him when we switched to a 4-3. But to act like we're being re-built when ALL offseason we talked about how this team was set is laughable.

Do you guys have that short of attention spands? I'm not trying to come off like a **** but man people. We're 1-1 and now we're talking like the offense is completely different when they have everyone except Stallworth from that offense. We're acting like we're depleted on defense after we gave up 16 points. If 16 points is considered a bad day for our defense, I guess the ****ty D's of the past few years were a lot better than we thought.

I'm not happy with the loss. I think our OL is a major concern. But I don't think there's a team that wants to see us any week. I don't think there's a team that can take the field against us and say they have us beat, no problem. But yet according to some of you it's the exact opposite. One loss just devastates some.

Re: Couldn't have been more wrong

Can everyone stop freaking out!!! Its week 2!! we still have 14 games to go!! The Patriots will bounce back!! This loss might have light a fire under the Patriots and we will see a different Patriots team next week. Remember the Patriots had a short week to prepare for the Jets. Get ready for some wooping that BB is going to smack down on the Patriots when they get back to Gillette!!

Peabody needs to be demoted, I havent seen such a vanilla Patriots defense since hes taken over.

Re: I know I will get slammed for this...but what is with halftime adjustments?

Wow...just watched Kelly Washington score for the Ravens...

Re: This one's on Brady

I agree‚ I really would much rather have Cassel right now.

Re: This one's on Brady

I think Welker was terribly missed more than anything. Edleman(spelling?) did decent job but he is no Welker and Welker is Brady's money guy.

Did we call draw play even once in this game?

Re: I know I will get slammed for this...but what is with halftime adjustments?

What adjustments were they supposed to make the D had played well granted the Jets didn't do anything offensively to make us look bad in the first half. And the O was moving the ball they stalled on a drop once and by a ****ty throw the other time.

The Jets certainly made a good adjustment opening up their offense but what were we supposed to adjust too???

Brady was off all day hard to put this one on the coaches.

What do you think of the vanilla defense, would you like to see more blitzing?

Re: I know I will get slammed for this...but what is with halftime adjustments?

Seems to me they brought more pressure in the first half. Might be wrong, but looked that way. Sanchez could have ordered a pizza in the second half while scanning the field.

And, I assume that the head coach has to anticipate that the OTHER head coach may adjust...he should adjust to what the other head coach will do. Certainly, BB could not have thought all was well with the jets and Ryan would do much of the same?

Re: Couldn't have been more wrong

What worries me is the lack of variety on offense and defense. Why only rush 4 defenders when your facing a rookie? Why not run the ball more especially other formations other then shotgun draw plays. Can we see other screens besides a bubble screen?

Exactly. I was begging BB to throw some blitzes at this kid and see if we could rattle him into a mistake. He's obviously very accurate when given time.

Re: This one's on Brady

It was a team effort to lose that game not just on Brady!! The whole offense was out of sync and the Patriots will correct it for next week against the Falcons!

Re: This one's on Brady

I disagree that the o-line was that bad. Brady didn't get sacked once. Yes there was pressure but we knew there was going to be heavy pressure.Brady did have time to throw, but was hurried a lot of them. A lot of the blitzes were picked up. I think that the two back to back delay of game penalties really killed us. It took us out of field goal position. And that is on the QB.

we barely called screen plays that could of opened up more plays!!

Re: Couldn't have been more wrong

Once again this goes back to the off season every decision being made because of money. At some point they will have to start paying some players not the cap but the bonus money and this goes back to the owners "the Krafts " they're cheap.

You may not realize this but, bonus money counts against the cap.

Why not look at the stats which show the Patriots pay in the top 5 of the entire league?

We're not freaking out man. I'm sure this will be a much better team come December. But it is clear we were all wrong about it being a dominant team like the '07 version. We were clearly wrong about Brady being 100% back.
Alot of us thought the Offense was going to have to step up and carry us until the defense came together. I say a defense carrying an offense out there today. It's just a little disappointing wouldn't you say?
