certainly concerned about this game. Gray needs to have a big game and so does Wright IMO. Jets will be playing like its their Super bowl and would love nothing more than to piss in our cornflakes. We have a lot of injuries to key players so this could either be a disaster or a pleasant surprise that someone out of the ordinary steps up and plays well.
I don't think the Pats need big running game today. The Jets' pass defense sucks. I think that Vereen will have a bigger game than Gray (Vereen historically does well against the Jets), but it will be all purpose yards that will matter with him. The last two games that Vereen played vs. the Jets he had over 111 all purpose yards.
The Pats need to run enough for the Jets to respect it, but today is a passing game.
Kline and Devey were the two guards against the Jets in the first game this season and they did alright. And let's be honest Connolly hasn't exactly been playing great as of late due to injuries
I continue to think the issue most folks have is the formation choices which take away the defense's need to even concern themselves with the run. While I get moving the RB out to better determine man or zone, you can motion him back in too so that's not always empty backfield so the D can just go all out on the pass rush.
I think the o line will be ok, they got maneri and flemming active so I can see some three TE sets, I still think while it could be close in the beginning I see a blow out like with Miami. I like vareen and grey on this game with some screens and short passes.
I think the defense is better right now, I think the they hold the jets to under 100 yards rushing or right close to that, they are not going to let the jets control time of possession this time and that will be the death bell.

With Dan Connolly out today, affects FG protection personnel as well. Patriots had mix-up during warmups along these lines, delaying FG try.

That's a minor thing, but for a team that takes pride in attention to detail, and practices a crisp warmup, a bit unusual to see.
