Exactly. That game was the best example of what I've been saying about this team for many years now. It doesn't matter if they're successful or not, they still need to run the damn ball to keep the defense honest. The Pats ran it 27 times last week and didn't average 3 yards per carry, but it still made the passing game more effective.
To be fair if you look back at the play it looks like he threw over a defenders hand as the defender jumped. That's what I thought I saw in that split second, could be wrong though.
