c'mon..I saw this starting lineup and thought Philly would be up 24-0 at halftime...with them playing their first string O and D and going all out, screaming and pounding the chests and pointing to the sky...jeez...we started our 3rd string QB who half of the fanbase thinks is a worthless bust...and he gave the Pats a 10-0 lead.

Cannon...what is it...he's a guard playing out of position?? what would you haters have the Pats do, trade him to the Jets for Wayne Hunter??

The first half of the next game is the only half of football this preseason I will put any stock in, other than to evaluate single players. I think BB gets in most of the work against the Bucs during the two practice sessions, then plays the 1st unit for 4 or 5 possessions...then fold up shop and play the scrubs in the 4th game...screw Goodell and his azzheaded preseason schedule

5 things I want to see (gratuitous, high definition lingering shots of cheerleaders aside)...

1. Hammer Time: Like to see The Hammer show that he can hit something beyond a quick slant or screen. That he's developed QB skills beyond being Tall with a Strong Arm. The OL will have to vote "Present" for him to have a chance.

Got that wish. Nice job so far Ryan!

2. BB Let The Dogs Out on defense vs Vick. Want to see Jones/Hightower and Spikes bring it.

Got that wish too. G'Bye Vick you ....!

3. Ebner at safety...can he make a play or 2? Speaking of that position, I'd kill to see a couple plays where any Pats safety actually covers a TE or RB.

Ebner makes the 53. Not a fluke pick as he was where he was supposed to be.


4. Can Vereen push the rock vs the ones?

Vereen looked decent. Nothing spectacular but good.

5. Edelman at slot receiver. No matter how he does this would provide post fodder for the remaining pre-season weeks pleasing Ian immensely.

Edes made a couple nice catches with YAC

What I don't want to see aside from injuries of course is that blathering idiot from Sam Adams* going on interminably while we miss plays in the ridiculous small screen in the corner. FOAD, Jimbo!

Since ESPN is doing the telecast Kraft's butt buddies don't hog the screen. A big win for me.

If nothing else, after the first half we can all agree that Edelman's safe, I assume. If Bolden's the best alternative at PR, then there's no way he doesn't stick.

As a rugby player he would be expected to advance the ball at any opportunity- on offense or defense. From what I have heard, those instincts are paying off.

Why? He has a lot of potential - at guard. Unfortunately, he will likely have to play RT for one more game. Then he will be backing up Mankins and Vollmer.

What they definitely need is to get another back up tackle before the Jets pull their heads out of their arses and realize they need a starting RT.

Anyone bored in the second half can go to Jets Insider and watch Rah!Rah! convince others and himself that other than the first two series the Eagles played mostly back ups in the first half.

He's not an NFL tackle and he doesn't fit the mold of a Pats guard. I think the best move is to send him to a team that uses more of a power scheme to use as a right guard. That'd leave either Mankins or McDonald as the backup tackle, though.

For those of you who are making absurd judgments on all this players. Think about this. This is the Pats 19th practice of the year. That's 12 fewer than they had last season. If you don't think that the offense wouldn't be better with those 12 more practices then you know know NOTHING about football. All you are are chronic bicher's and moaners.

Please dump Cannon now. Ship him to Rex. He needs a right tackle. Chung just isn't going to last for anywhere near 16 games, let alone the postseason in the NFL.

I think Cannon has a future as a guard. Only problem is there is nobody up to it at right tackle, well nobody thats healthy anyways. He will still provide good backup across the line. Don't rule him out because of a few preseason games.
