The Official Patriots/Bills Postgame Thread

Here comes the defining games coming up.

Have to be pleased with the overall offense, they played a good complementary game. Is Buffalo a pretty poor defense, OK, but the Pats seemed to have less trouble with them than Green Bay or Miami, so that has to be considered.

The performance on defense is pretty depressing. I wish I could call out even a couple of things, or even one, that I could cite as a silver lining, but I can't. I'm quite interested to know if anyone on the board saw more hope than did I.

Went in figuring that the Pats would have to beat the Bills on the ground, and they did a much better job than I thought they'd be able to. I'd love to see the Pats go and move the ball on the ground that well against the Dolphins next week.

The D sucked, but at least we already kinda knew that. We're vulnerable to dynamic RBs, and the Bills have a few of them. Hopefully the front 7 can put it together for next week. They put it together in the 2nd half, at least, so that might a sign of good things to come. Eh, I dunno... saw a lot to like and a lot to not like today; nothing that really changes my overall perception of the team from last week.

Meriweather and Chung made big plays when it counted. That was an encouraging sign despite the overall amount of yards given up.

The offense had its A game today which was nice to see.

No second half collapse.

But I'm not overly enthusiastic about our chances in Miami next week.

Our offense is great. Our defense just needs to make more stops.

The defense on this team is terrible. There are zero play makers. If Oakland pick ends up in the top 1-5 pick, BB better not trade the pick. We need impact players on D.

much closer than it should have been.

Defense is brutal versus the run as well

I'm looking for the Pats to score points in the 4th quarter.
Check: 7 of 'em.

I want to see what Danny Woodhead brings to the table. Hope he'll play.
3 carries for 42 yards plus a TD. Pretty impressive.
I'd like to see Brady hit at least 5 receivers 2 or more times each.
Check. Nice call. He actually hit 6 receivers for 2 or more completions: Hernandez, Welker, Gronk, Tate, Moss, Edelman.

I'll check out the blocking back's performance on 3rd down/passing situations.
TBD. Didn't notice any blocking back used in a situation where he had to pick up a blitz.

The dolphins are a physical team.I gotta a bad feeling its gonna be a long day for this defense. The D definetly went backwards in this game.

people will blame the D and they did have some problems but here are the facts IMO
1. they gave up 23 pts..a lot but for our D not unexpected
2. Our offense went 2 3 and outs withe penalties and poor punting and giving field position
3. the lone TD the bills scored in the first half was via turn over in our side of the field.
4. out of 4 offensive drives in the first half the D gave up 1 Td and 3 FG. granted they should be better vs the bills but we all know this isnt the pittsburgh D.

Before the season we all talked how the offense needs to be flawless and they really put our D in bad situations early. If they play like indy e.g start fast and score a couple of times taking a two score lead, it can help our D.

just my 2 cents.

I thought Mayo and TBC were pretty good.

It also warrants mentioning that Fitzpatrick is twice the QB that Trent Edwards is. He's not good or anything, definitely not as good as we made him look, but that offense would have scored at least a little more in the previous games if Fitz had been out there.

I guess two picks don't count as "plays," eh?

Gartley just missed a chip shot figgy for the Saints in OT.

Seems as if Brady has learned his lesson and it was effective. Welker was quiet and the ball was spread around pretty evenly. Great utilization of the TEs

Yes. This is what was missing in the Jets loss. Brady needs more attempts to Hernandez and Gron. 2 new safety-blankets..

They ran much more today, but, Bills-D is not a tier-1 D, so, we will see how this will pan out in Miami (as well as a road-game).

ok bills ..make some plays next week vs the jets...

Cunningham, as well.

He's a rookie and looks like it at times, but he had some good heat on the Chung pick.

I do actually think these LBs are going to be pretty damn good once they get some experience & chemistry.

Very scared for the defense, I think we are among the NFLs worst... Imagine if we didn't have an offense capable of holding on too the ball. Sanchez and Fitz both looked good against it.

Offense is good, though I would like to see us spend one of our 1st or second round draft picks next year on a runner.

why can't our crowd be as loud as the Saints or Chiefs?

I agree, especially for a team that doesn't play with a lot of emotion. Everyone except Brady looked listless for most of the game. You pick up wins like that in a country club environment, then go on the road and it gets tough.

They really need to think about closing that stadium (or ask Bill Poilan for some tricks of the trade )

Impressed with Woodhead aswell
