So many ex-Patriots getting the chop.

Running back Shane Vereen won’t be on the Saints’ 53-man roster.

According to multiple reports, the veteran back will be placed on injured reserve. Vereen injured his right hand and/or fingers during Thursday night’s preseason finale.

Vereen signed with the Saints in July and saw action in all four exhibition contests. Vereen ran seven times for 22 yards and caught nine passes for 41 yards.

Vereen spent the last three years with the Giants and has seen most of his action as a receiving threat out of the backfield. If Thursday’s injury wasn’t overly serious, that ability could land him work elsewhere once he’s healthy and released with an injury settlement.

We would have to cut a player who makes our team to keep him after he just flames out and has been a bust.
There are consequences to taking a flyer.

If BB replaces Grigsby or Lee on the roster, I'll trust his judgement. If he goes unclaimed, I won't sweat it.

@AndyJohnson was right about Lewis. Nice call. I thought he had potential, but you had it right. I'm curious to see how things will go with Crossen, since you also didn't have high praise for him. Let's hope we're 1-1 in our predictions.

He or she just needed you to swing the axe. Made his or her life easier in the process. Hopefully you had some choice words on your way out the door. That's a gutless coward thing to do.
Not defending it, but that’s how that big corporation worked. Immediate supervisor and hr rep handle the axe. VP was gone too.

I cannot see my current boss ever doing that to me so perhaps I'm lucky. Although you don't truly know someone's real colors until the chips are down, so to speak.
Good luck to you sir...I have now been “right sized” as the last ceo called it 4 times since....acquisitions, mergers, divestitures are part of corporate America and although they usually are good for the companies and stock holders, the hr element is usually surgery by hand grenade.

There's a lot of quality names that have been released thus far. Kikaha stands out immediately based on lists I've seen as many projected us to trade a mid rounder for him last year. Would be interesting. Braxton Miller, Corey Moore, Brandon Tate, Aldrick Robinson, Chris Jones are others too

@AndyJohnson was right about Lewis. Nice call. I thought he had potential, but you had it right. I'm curious to see how things will go with Crossen, since you also didn't have high praise for him. Let's hope we're 1-1 in our predictions.

Lewis was a guy I was sure was going to be an UDFA to sneak on to the 53 3 weeks ago. Since that time he hasn't done much to show he deserves a spot unfortunately. I was wrong on that one too.
