What difference does it make? If these are the hairs that need to be split that decide the outcome of a game at home against the 2012 jets, then you have major problems.
The 2012 pats are the most poorly coached team in the BB era
No one is splitting hairs.
As for the 2012 Pats being the most poorly coached team in the BB era, sorry, you don't know that. In fact, 2005 this team was pretty poorly coached. Hell, none of us know how they are being coached so how can you say they are being coached poorly?
Is the play-calling on the offense in question? Sure. I can't argue with that. McDaniels gets away from what is working and then goes to a different set of personnel and tries to make that work and never goes back to what was working. He seems to get caught up in himself thinking that certain plays (like 2 screens in a row) will magically work when the other team hasn't been blitzing.
On the defensive side of the ball, the Pats have gone vanilla. Probably because of how young the team is. When you've got 4 rookies and a second year player with low amount of snaps starting, you can't go real complex. Not when nearly half the defense doesn't fully know all the defensive schemes or can't execute them properly yet. Some of the schemes take years to learn. We've been TOLD that by guys like Bruschi, McGinest, Vrabel and Harrison. Do you think they said this just because?
Is there room for improvement? Yep. I've not said otherwise. But to make bold statements like yours when you clearly can't know it, well, that's just plain silly.
