Two bitter men who could learn from Henry David Thoreau who said, "Most people lead lives of quiet desperation, and go to their graves with the song still in their heart."
Ryan and Faulk should recite that quotation with an emphasis on the word "quiet."
Jets fans living outside of NY/NJ, and the younger crowd that started following the Jets around the time Bill Parcells started coaching them will root for the Giants. The older crowd, and a higher percentage of Jets fans who have to live amongst Giants fans every day will root for the Patriots.
It's fascinating, actually. Some are hell bent on rooting against Boston teams no matter what, while others hate being stuck with little brother syndrome in their own city. The fan base is truly divided, more so now than four years ago when it seemed all of America was united in their hatred for the Pats. Now for some Jets fans, the Giants already had their fun, and once was enough (disregarding the two other SB's the Lawrence Taylor era Giants had, of course). In other words, this Super Bowl is a worst case scenario for Jets fans.
On monday morning at work, I had an Eagles co-workers shake his head and say "I can't believe I gotta root for the F'N Pats" There's also a Cowboys fan as well and he wants the Pats to win simply out of his hatred for the Giants.
He now ranks #2 behind the all-time villian of Bill Laimbeer. He passed George Steinbrenner now ranked #3 on the all time villian list. "Congratulations."
Rex Ryan took a couple of steps back this year "unfortunately".
I'm sure Breer will think that this is tougher match up for the Patriots than people think.
I have heard him on the radio saying that the Giants have built their safety corp to stop TEs. And he is right because they totally shutdown Vernon Davis only holding him to 112 yards and 2 TDs last weekend.
