The need for Gonzo is glaring..

Austin have been exposed. I thought he could be good enough in a role.. but gonzo... is the man happiest.. he will get paid $$$ even if he's the massage room.

The zones, coverage and tackling looked better yesterday, nobody wants to hear that after a loss, but it’s true.

You can’t hand the ball back to the opponent 5 times in a game, give them substantially more possessions, and not expect them to score.

If our offense held the ball and didn’t fumble we would have blown them out.
It was a matter of time before Pittsburgh scored.. the defense actually played well yesterday.. once Austin was moved inside seemed like the secondary fared well. You'd think the starting experience would help Austin... but some guys get exposed the bigger role they have to play.

Austin is what most of us thought he was, a marginal #4 CB. We needed someone to compete with him for reps. Vrabel decided to count on Practice Squad level players (James). Vrabel did reasonably pick up Woods, essentially a replacement for Dial who had been put on IR. The cutdown waiver wire was a reasonable place for this replacment.

Trade Gonzo?? and then we have a Defense that can't stop anybody...no thanks we are keeping him.
Gonzo is the best DB we have no one is even a close second... Gonzo is up there will gilly, ty law in his abilities to cover guys up.... the other guys are always chasing WR's...

The player I wanted was Alexander... who signed with Ravens and has been solid for them... he's a physical CB and would have been able to man up and challenge WR.. you have to play with great anticipation and instincts to be a solid DB. Austin is starting because there is no other recourse right now. Then he was put inside where he did better however..then Marcus was outside and got toasted on the TD..

I'm getting N'Keal Harry vibes with Gonzalez. Harry had absolutely no urgency getting back onto the field after his boo boo his rookie season which should've been no more than 4 weeks. He took 9 weeks to get his ass on the field. Gonzalez may be sitting this out until he feels like playing. He certainly has no problem social media stuff with the team in the meantime.

If he doesn't play much this season, he's risking a 2nd contract with the Pats. Have you seen how guys have been paid recently and continue to tap out of games? It's really getting out of control.

N'Keal Harry had talent but his attitude was what held him back reported he was arguing with coaches.. then asked for a trade!..... your right on your assessment.. he got the ankle injury and was just never able to really consistently stay on the field. Gonzo at least was named all pro.. and that's what he is.. N'Keal Harry is an ALL- NO. Still feeling like Gonzo being kept out is something Vrabel and the training staff are in agreement on... just my best guess..

Let Gonzo sit again this week: get him ready for Buffalo.

I think we probably need to let him play this week twin.. so he can have a game under his belt.. and at least hold Allen to 300 instead of 500.. king Tet and leggette will torch lil engine that could Marcus and automatic first down Austin..

Too much Twin too much.

Yep. I mentioned the same a couple weeks ago. I believe that will be the case.

This take is insane to me. Sit him for a possibly winnable game just to bring him back the next week for a guaranteed loss?

Maybe that's when the hammy will be well enough to play ?

Comparing Gonzo to Harry is wild even for Pats fans. It's reaching Jets fan level delerium.

Gonzo made second team All-Pro his second year. Harry is nowhere near as talented nor did he play enough significance to even sniff an All Pro vote.

If you've ever played sports, you know how sensitive hamstring injuries can be.

Guys, just accept he's a guest star player at this point. If you can get him, great! But for the most part, game planning and prep has to proceed as if he will never be available.

Agreed, we’re at peak level Pat’s fan malaise and it’s only week 3.

How many all-pro teams did N'Keal Harry make again?
I'm referring to attitude. I've already noted in another thread that the Steelers have come out and said they took Gonzalez off their draft board completely because they didn't like his attitude.
