The most overlooked play in NFL history, to me, is the Jermaine Kearse catch in the Super Bowl.

All anyone talks about is "Brady would have 3 losses if Seattle would've ran it" and completely ignore one of the most insane catches I have ever seen.

Sorry, venting. I watched TV this AM.

I always thought it was McNabb puking, I heard from one fan that McNabb was puking because he was so disgusted at the Patriots' cheating.

It reminded me a lot of the iconic Antonio Freeman Monday Night Football catch. I'm sure it also brought back a lot of David Tyree memories as well.

It was almost in the same SB quarter in same end of the same field, with a similar score.

If I had watched that game live, I might have lost my damned mind watching that catch.

Right game, wrong play. It was actually the next or 2 plays later, inside the 5 yard line, Lynch took a handoff off left tackle, and Patrick Chung, Donta Hightower (playing with basically one good arm) and Akeem Ayers combined to stop Lynch short of the goal. The next play - we know what happened.

That was the game defining play before it got one-upped, yeah. thank goodness.

I don't know if there's an adjective that could describe the incredible mood swings our party experienced during the last few minutes of that game. Euphoria to helplessness to devastation to depression to Euphoric insanity.

I hate to bring this up but....For me it will always be Asante Samuel dropping the interception that would have preserved the undefeated season.

All I can go off of is the countless YouTube videos, but boy does it paint a vivid picture.

I had a very delayed euphoric insanity. I found out the next morning the Pats won, after going to bed hearing they were down 24-14 in the fourth quarter. When the Drill Sergeant said it, I cheered, right there in formation. I got the **** smoked out of me, but it was worth it.

that play was one of those stabs right to the gut.

mind blowing end to that game.

Those two plays together were dynasty-defining. Especially if the Pats back it up with another ring or two before Brady retires.

Ah yes, a true Patriot in every regard. Seriously I don't know if a paragraph could be more patriotic haha.

That's because it had no impact after Butler's play. It was made irrelevant in terms of historical significance because the Patriots won the game in the end.

I'll mention the 3rd and 11 completion to Steve Smith just before the Giants TD on the final drive where they ran the most blatant pick play ever to get him open. Should have been OPI. Stop it at 8 seconds

I think the outcome of the game changed everything. If the Pats lost the game, that catch would have been as big as the Tyree catch. But since the Pats won, the focus was on Carroll's decision to throw the ball which ultimately cost the Seahawks the game.

Unfortunately, because the focus is on the Seahawks passing on the one yard line, people forget the Kearse catch which meant the Seahawks were lucky to even be in the position to make that wrong call.

Don't think it was same end of field. The Tyree catch happened near where Brady hit Edelman for the GW score.
