re: The mediots going off on "The Welker Situation" thread.

Thats the dumbest debate I have ever heard. Company man? The goal is to a build a team the idea is to get 53 players acting as one not to have 53 players that question everything management tells them.

If Brady had rallied for his guy back in 07 we might not have had a undefeated regular season and Welker might not have turned into Welker or it wouldnt happen until 08. In 07 Brown would have been Brady's target that he should have been going to bat for right? Clearly Brown was past his prime so its not apples to apples but its close it isnt apples and oranges either maybe apples to apple sauce (broke down apples). If you apply this argument to 07 Brady should not have let management deactivate Brown all season that was his boy and he should have gone to bat for him, he should ignore that BBs and management job is to evaluate talent and just stick up for his buddies. Now dont get me wrong I am not trying to say Jules is better than Edelman but that is my opinion and I am not the one making the choices neither is Brady.

re: The mediots going off on "The Welker Situation" thread.

Why is this a thread?

re: The mediots going off on "The Welker Situation" thread.

Tom Brady in 13 years has never thrown anyone under the bus, ever.

But that must be what he is doing now -throwing Welker under the bus?

We know this because Brady isnt publically throwing the coaches under a bus for the inferred crime of us having guessed the coaches are in fact throwing Welker under yet another bus??

Wait whos on first (and did he get thrown under a bus)?

Re: Stephen A Smith going of on Brady

Stephen A Smith is an idiot with a microphone. You avoid idiots with a microphone.
He is far from an idiot. He is a very articulate, entertaining, well thought-out media creation and he does his job extremely well. He makes a lot of money, and you can't do what he does.

I'd say for you to call him an idiot because you don't like what he said is a joke. He happens to have a point: Brady is a company man. And I have been one myself, and I have also been in the union trenches. Brady is a certified company man and nothing he says about potentially controversial issues is ever real. Brady is a denialist and sometimes, yes, this could hurt the team.

Steven A., right on. This information can only hurt Koolaid Drinkers who can't figure out real life from a manipulated media presentation like what Tom and Bill offer. What they do for press conferences is just pathetic, and if Steven A. says that then I'm all for it because it's nothing but the truth.

And it's the truth, not Koolaid, that sets the soul free.

Your choice of words here is incredibly ironic, unless it is sarcasm that I am missing. Smith and the show he is on is the ultimate in a "manipulated media presentation"; it is such an incredibly phony scripted "debate" that it makes professional wrestling look real and the Jerry Springer Show to be honest spontaneity.

You do know that show is scripted right?

Cowherd says Brady's claim that the team is keeping guys fresh is pure B.S.

I was listening to the Cowherd radio show today and he was talking about how ridiculous Brady's claim is that they are using Edelman in place of Welker to keep guys fresh and moving players in and out of the lineup, pretty much saying Brady is just covering Bill and Welker's situation.

He says that didn't stop Lloyd or Gronkowski from missing hardly any action and that this was Belichick's way of dealing with the Welker situation by showing that the team is not going to pay huge money for a primary inside slot receiver that has struggled on the outside perimiters.

He says Belichick is tight on money in this situation and is teaching a lesson here which may have just come at the expense of the team's loss last week.

If this is a spite tactic, then this could affect the locker room and team unity.

Bills needs to stop these spite tactics and get this receiving corps happy and united again.....I don't like what appears to be some hostility between player and coach and if it continues it will affect the whole team.

Welker is vital to the success of this offense, even more now with Hernandez out.....Bill, stop being so freaking arrogant and stubborn and put the best players on the field.

Edelman is not, and likley never be a better choice than Welker....in any circumstance or on any play.

It is B.S., as is the "better camp" nonsense that's been put forth. Does anyone think that Mallett would be the team's starter if he "looked better" in camp this year?

Please

No doubt, just what I thought when he was asked about his new show with Bayless and went on and on about what a great guy Bayless is, how much respect he has for him, and how great he is to work with. I remember thinking " way to let it all hang out Steven A., how to give us the unvarnished truth." Thanks for setting me straight about Skippy, no koola-aid here..........."

re: The mediots going off on "The Welker Situation" thread.

I think we should have a thread for every mediot who says something, with no real inside information, just speculation and conjecture.

Oh wait, we already do have threads for every mediot who says something with no real inside information, just speculation and conjecture.

Now some may say "You're a mod, why don't you just merge, move, or delete these threads". The answer is: they are like ants, you kill one and 10 come to the funeral.

this was your first mistake, and to be honest, i kind of stopped reading after that

Yet again. Thank you to Ian for the thread ignore feature which I'm going to test out right now.

Re: Cowherd says Brady's claim that the team is keeping guys fresh is pure B.S.

I agree with Cowherd...My thoughts are if you are not going to sign him, just don't sign him. Wants the point of even franchising him and pull these stunts? Its not helping the team, and it may cost them later if the game comes back to haunt them in terms of the playoff seeding.

Re: Cowherd says Brady's claim that the team is keeping guys fresh is pure B.S.

Im Welkered the effff out ... Its reached "Spygate" levels ..

Re: Cowherd says Brady's claim that the team is keeping guys fresh is pure B.S.

Can we consolidate into a Welker: Mediot Speculation thread?

Ain't it the truth. What is Brady supposed to say? Yeah, Edelman stinks but Coach is trying to teach Wes a lesson? We know Wes is gone next year so we're coaching up Edelman? Wes is hurt so Edelman is getting more playing time? Josh can't stand Wes, so he's intentionally leaving him out? I took play calling into my own hands last week and started to throw to Wes on my own?

No matter which theory is the correct one, Brady gave the only answer he can.

Re: Cowherd says Brady's claim that the team is keeping guys fresh is pure B.S.

Of course it's BS, so is the 'specific formation' stuff. Everyone was saying Wilfork had too high a workload last year also yet he's still seeing close to all the snaps. And regardless of what formation we run, why would Edelman ever be in a spot over Welker unless there was something more to the story.

re: The mediots going off on "The Welker Situation" thread.(Merged)

OK, threads are going to be merged into one great big Welker speculation thread. All I can asks is:

I agree that keeping him fresh is pure B.S. But I certainly hope that Belichick isn't stupid enough to keep Welker on the bench to start the game out of spite. I still contend that it has to be a lingering injury.

You do get that theres no "truth" here, right?

Welker-gate is conjecture on top of imagination on top of guesswork wrapped around the attempt to prove the unprovable.

Welker has been targeted 15% less over two games than was his average for last year.

Yell conspiracy all you want but it doesnt take drinking koolaid to see through your "truths"
