I wish the bloopers had Daisy Ridley say "I am...Iron Man. I mean all the Jedi"Not even a big Star Wars fan, but I’m still triggered by that ****.

If Brady came into the league today as a sixth round pocket passer, he probably would never had a chance to become the greatest of all time.
You’re off your rocker. Brady literally dominated this generations best as recently as two and a half years ago, and not for the first time. Same game. There just isn’t a Brady in it right now.
Brady only got a chance to be the greatest of all time because the Pats decided to keep four QBs his rookie season. If they cut him, there was no guarantee anyone else would have even picked him up. He could have disappeared before he had a shot. And that was in the age of pure pocket passing QBs.
As a pure pocket passer coming into the league today as a prospect that no one is high on, he probably doesn't get drafted and may not even get signed as an undrafted free agent. He most likely would have been out of the league before he got a chance to prove himself in today's day and age.
I am not talking about what Brady turned into. I am saying he probably wouldn't have the opportunity to turn into the GOAT in today's NFL if he was a draft prospect today.
That’s really it. Again, they’re more subtle, at least, in national sports media, where they go hard on real arguments to justify their drama-stirring, and I know it’s part of their day-to-day job. However, with sports shock-jocks like Felger & Mazz it’s 110% pure The Dark Knight Rises Joker: they are agents of chaos.Aside from the unintended side conversation regarding BB…
The League hates the Pats, I’m convinced. The horridly one-sided officiating in LV was just part of a pattern (posted on it the post-game thread).
As for the MEDIA…I work in a media adjacent field, and sometimes for media giants. I studied media and gave a degree reflecting that. Two, actually.
The formula for talk radio is simple: agitate. People like to argue. Say something stupid and the phones light up with people wanting to correct you. Start fights because anger lights up the brain like porn.
It’s anger-porn media, and you’re 100% correct in that they really don’t believe what they’re professing, particularly in sports media and politics.
If he was drafted by the Patriots dead-last this last off season, season-1-Super Bowl-winning-drive-Brady would already be the starter for this team as of at least two weeks ago.
I think it’s safe to assume if Mac Jones, Watson and Wilson x2 have jobs as starting quarterbacks, Brady would be fine.Maybe. Or he would never have been drafted and would be out of the league already. The Patriots didn‘t draft a QB this year. They didn’t sign one as an undrafted free agent to compete to be a QB.
Again, it is a different league where pocket passers aren’t valued as much. There are pocket passers who are rated higher than Brady was in 2000 who probably never make it to a preseason roster.
Jake Fromm was drafted in the fifth round and he is shorter than Brady with a weaker arm and ran the 40 at over 5 seconds. Brady would obviously still be drafted in today's league.Brady only got a chance to be the greatest of all time because the Pats decided to keep four QBs his rookie season. He needs it all to track with his “Brady was a product of the Belichick system” line of reasoning he took full ownership over before. Please don't tell me we're doing the "If Bill didn't carry 4 QBs in 2000 Brady would have never done anything" thing again?

It’s not so much a defense of Belichick as it is pointing out the actual reasons the media-pitchforks have come out.I never said that. Stop putting words in my mouth. And I don't believe that.
But you shouldn't cast stones when you are arguing the league is exactly the same today that it was in 2013 as an argument to defend Belichick.
When Rob posts about Brady:

Special teams and kick off returns have changed but overall I don’t know of any super significant rule changes taking place since the Polian Colts. Brady still dominated the league two years ago, thus, elite pocket passers will still dominate the league.LOL! Please tell us again how the league exactly the same as it was in 2013 and how nothing has changed. We all need a good laugh. It is the same as it was in 1930 too. They are still wearing leather helmets and everything.
